Seems no one wanted to watch my video. It is very short and I can almost guarantee you will be shocked at what you learn.

As you might know Mike, you are losing weight because you are not
getting enough calories to maintain your weight. This is fine for the moment as I assume you
are losing the fat (fat is a "reserve supply of energy") you always wanted to. I hope you'll
post every mid-month with a short update. I'm curious to know how you'll feel after that excess
fat is burned off.

I'm eating (drinking) about 2,000 calories a day.

Mike

Apparently you'd need >2000 calories a day to maintain your weight (guess that's obvious).
The actual number depends upon a number of factors, height, age, activity level, gender...maybe
others but I don't know off hand.

It is possible to be too thin. This might be something to think about down the road.

Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by excessive weight loss, and irrational fear of gaining weight and distorted body self-perception. (from wikipedia)

Anorexia nervosa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've heard of weight tables but I've also heard they are incorrect. One would take
ones gender and height and you'd get a healthy weight range of where you're supposed to
be at.

Don't know if you've said what weight is your target weight.

Don't know if you've said what waistline is your target waistline.

This is about body fat percentage which might be useful.

Body fat percentage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't recall if you've mentioned how much protein you are getting in a day. I'm not even going to guess
how much a man needs given whatever height, age, activity level. I think that it's generally
believed that protein needs increase when one starts on a body building regimen. The amounts
I've heard in this matter are sometimes, in my opinion, way too high.

Mike, if you've covered all this already and/or you're too busy, don't bother to reply, it's ok.

- Stephen

I have not been following this thread.
I thought it was a 'cartoon' thread and avoided it.
After seeing the multiple page link I decided to check it out.

I'm not a vegan...

However, I have been a juicer for a while.

My experience is that it is AMAZING!!!

I am NOT on a diet.
Diets don't work.
But juicing is just a better way to eat.
I have more energy than any 62 year old person I know.

When I make my daily juice I simply don't get hungry.
You will find that the juice is so nutritionally complete that your body quits craving the crap you are used to eating.

One thing I have found that makes a difference for me is the type of juicer.
I use a Tribest Solostar.
There are several videos of this and similar types on YouTube.
The Solostar costs about $250 for the electric model.
I also have the manual Tribest ZStar (non-electric hand crank).

I've used and still have several blenders/juicers.
The high speed juicers seem to change the chemical makeup of the juice because of the heat from the speed. The 'slow' juicers give a better quality juice imo.

The manual juicer is easy to transport and I use it primarily at my office and the electric one at my home.

I know that many of you will never try juicing... (that is sad).
'You are what you eat' and your body is a growing machine that runs best with nutritional inputs and not all the manufactured and processed products.

At the least, start READING the labels of what you are putting into your body.
You will soon see that most of the labels show how much c-wrap you are buying.

P.S. Don't get caught up in the not getting enough protein issue. Several studies have shown that protein and cancer have some significant connections. A juice/vegetable rich diet has all the protein your body needs.

Not exactly about diet, but I came across this recently.

=============================================

Xenoestrogen

Xenoestrogens are a type of xenohormone that imitates estrogen. They are widely used industrial compounds such as PCB, BPA and Phthalates, that have estrogenic effects on a living organism even though they differ chemically from the naturally occurring estrogenic substances internally produced by the endocrine system of the organism. Their potential ecological and human health impact is currently under extensive study by many scientific institutions and independent researchers.

Bisphenol A (BPA)

Bisphenol A has been known to be leached from the plastic lining of canned foods and polycarbonate plastics, especially those cleaned with harsh detergents or that contain acidic or high-temperature liquids. BPA is an ingredient in the internal coating of metal food and beverage cans used to protect the food from direct contact with the can. A recent Health Canada study found that the majority of canned soft drinks it tested had low, but measurable levels of bisphenol A. Furthermore, a study conducted by the University of Texas School of Public Health in 2010, found BPA in 63 of 105 samples of fresh and canned foods, foods sold in plastic packaging, and in cat and dog foods in cans and plastic packaging. This included fresh turkey, canned green beans, and canned infant formula. While most human exposure is through diet, exposure can also occur through air and through skin absorption.

I found as in diets and trading, you need discipline. The two go hand in hand and you need to stay focused on both. It's easy to eat junk food while in front of the computer and gain weight. I found that taking a break for a couple of minutes or just standing up and stretching does wonders.

I found...in diets...you need discipline.

My take on it, is that discipline (ie. will power) can decrease as taste increases.

It is simple to eat healthy. One example is to just eat a banana. Real simple.

But to eat a somewhat typical
American meal that is also healthy takes time to learn. There are certain low fat cuts
of beef as I posted a while back. One would have to know what they are. Then there
is the cooking and seasoning. You might want a side dish, etc. etc.

Anyone that really likes food is going to have a hard time with will power unless
the food tastes pretty darn good.

Sayings about food and eating if you have time to kill. Some are amusing. Nothing important though.

Just some general info on heart disease.

Why????

More than 1000 Americans die on average each day because of it.

(That's 100, right? No it's 1000.)

This isn't a 'be like me' post. I don't eat really healthy or exercise that much.
I just want those not in the choir to get some understanding of this disease.

What you personally do with it is up to you. (Just imagine what a hassle it
would be to have to deal with all this. Less time for trading. Less money.)

==================================================

Cardiovascular disease or heart disease is a class of diseases that involve the heart or blood vessels (arteries and veins).

By the time that heart problems are detected, the underlying cause (atherosclerosis) is usually quite advanced, having progressed for decades. There is therefore increased emphasis on preventing atherosclerosis by modifying risk factors, such as healthy eating, exercise, and avoidance of smoking.

Cardiovascular disease - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
==================================================

In 2010, coronary heart disease alone was projected to cost the United States $108.9 billion.3 This total includes the cost of health care services, medications, and lost productivity.
