I like sandwiches. They have all the ingredients of a balanced meal, that is if you don't load them with meat. I usually ask for my sandwiches heavy on the lettuce and tomato and lighter on the meat. This way you get the carbs from the bread, fiber and nutrients from the veggies and protein from the meat. I use the food pyramid as a reference, I'm not a nutritionist. It doesn't hurt to go to the gym or go for a run every day.

Happy to report in last 10 days since my post I've lost 5 lbs, so it must have just been timing.

I have now lost 25 lbs since starting the thread.

This is an advice that all traders should follow.

I particularly enjoyed the answer referring to the whales.

CONCLUSION
Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

An update - have now lost 30 lbs. Has been about 3 months since I started the thread and my diet. All I have changed is my food intake, making very careful choices at the store on every single item consumed. Also am eating several small meals instead of one large meal a day.

Now that I have moved into this new house, I plan to move forward with the elliptical or some similar machine after my second hand surgery and recuperation time.

Good for you! If you really want to get in shape, I would advise you to give Tabata intervals a try. It is the best way, I believe, to lose fat and still keep muscle mass intact.

Am holding at 30lbs lost for the last two weeks now. Starting to make more concrete plans for an elliptical trainer, have my eye on a Sole E95.

I'm waiting to clear an extra bedroom of the junk pile of crap from moving day, and then when room is empty I'll likely buy the elliptical.
