I would definitely check Newegg and TigerDirect on Cyber Monday (tomorrow) for some laptop deals.

Personally, I love my Thinkpad and have owned HP, Compaq, Acer and Asus notebooks but would try to buy a Thinkpad again if I could muster spending the extra money. Otherwise Asus would be my second choice. I would most certainly NOT buy Acer, HP or Compaq again.

My notebook is a 15.4" but has 1920x1200 display, which is very unusual. I love it. It is a few years old and is a bit heavy though, but I am really not moving it around much. If I was buying today, I would try to get one that was lighter and I would get rid of the optical drive (never use it), and would get an SSD drive in it. Even the three year old Core Duo processor is fast enough for my needs on the laptop, so I wouldn't get bleeding edge fast, I would rather have longer battery life, great screen, light weight.

Toshiba laptop is only way to go, and stay away from Sony laptop.

I bought my second Dell system a few months ago. I didn't have any
serious problems with my first one. They were both desktop systems
however.

If you haven't bought your computer yet I think you'll find a good deal
by some source before Christmas. I don't know what the very best day(s)
would be, but probably the 3 days before Christmas might be.

Video plays after a short commercial. I think you all will get the
point after the first 90 seconds, that is, the intro. If you want to
watch the whole episode you can if you wish.

Sometimes a few days after the New Year you will find some good deals as well, but usually not as good as Black Friday.
