Hidden viewers? How does that work?

How come not everyone is listed under the "currently active users viewing this thread"?

Users that aren't logged in (multiple devices) and/or users who have enabled the Elite feature of invisible mode don't appear as active.

Why?

I got into the habit of checking who else is viewing the same thread I am. After being on the forum for quite some time, I started noticing the regulars. So recently, I've been wondering if this is a good way of noticing the like minded traders that relate towards my strategies. That's great that Elite members have an option to be hidden. I respect their privacy. This question was just something I was wondering about. This is the first forum I got really involved with, and am impressed on the features it provides such as this one. Even though this is an option for the Elite, I don't think I would use it. It would be pointless for my original purpose, which is to meet other futures daytraders.

Interesting...just because someone is currently viewing a thread doesn't necessarily mean they use that strategy in the thread or are even interested in the topic at all. I open lots of threads that have 0 interest to me but in order to know if they did I had to open it first...
