You put him somewhere up. That makes him already look more important. Then you look for his most impressive side. Just like the Simba below.

The Simba below is a copy of the Idstedt-Lion, which had been installed by the Danish army in Flensburg after their victory in 1850. The lion is the heraldic animal of Denmark. After the German-Danish war of 1864 Prussian and Austrian troops reconquered Schleswig and brought the original lion, somewhat damaged, to Berlin, where it was restaurated and then spent some 80 years of holidays. Eisenhower discovered the lion in 1945 and sent it back to Copenhagen. There are still ongoing discussions between the German and Danish Government to reinstall the original lion in Flensburg. Actually this is planned for September, 10, 2010.

The copy below was commanded by a banker in 1874 and has remained in Berlin. I just remembered this pic, when you were talking about a glorious position.

Cool stuff FT, I'm deep into WW2 history but never heard this story before. Any idea as to where they keep this gem? I'm 35 min driving distance away from Copenhagen.

Think it's fair it should stay with the winners

Well, I was born in Schleswig-Holstein. We did not want that beast anyway. Just took the lion down, after we had chased away the invaders.

Now, the Danish want to put the lion back to Flensburg. Next year, the Danish Army will invade Flensburg to claim territorial rights for the spot, where the lion will be sitting.

For the moderators: Do not tell me that this is off-topic, the thread was about Simba, the best trader in the world, and the Danish lion is a close relative of Simba, although he does not look like him.

LOL! Would like to see that. Would be as good an indicator for the 6E as Simba

You asked. The original is still in Copenhagen. I feel that the lion is quite arrogant. He did not even participate in that victory.

Just heard that the lion's move from Cogenhagen to Flensburg has been postponed for technical reasons.

If you meet the lion, tell him that its pain will be over soon, and that it is going to return to its rightful place in history. If they cannot make it for September, it will come for X-mas.

Ha! Have no illusions, the delay is due to the Danish mobilization

Have a good evening my friend, I'm done for today. Barbecue waiting in the garden.
