I'm in the middle of a 3 day fast now. I don't worry about salts and electrolytes though but I fast regularly. Probably a good idea to supplement salts on your first go. Especially if you eat carbs. You'll dumb a tonne of water and salt.

I'm also full carnivore(*ish) Monday to Friday (Giant ribeye steak once a day). (*ish) because I drink coffee which is a plant if you want to get technical about it .

Saturday - Sunday I eat a more standard keto diet. Some salad, other veggies. Sometimes I have a cheat meal.

Try and do longer fasts (3-5 days) once a month then (Although I've been a bit slack on that the last few months).

Started this one Monday evening (Thailand time).

significant evidence that intermittent fasting does what the video claims. Calories are a unit of energy so the only way to create a deficit and lose weight is to use more than you take in. When you look at the macros, as the video does, you get a clear picture about excess carbs.

A place by me called Manny's makes the best fish tacos I've ever had....in that mix it IS the tortillas that kill you.

Jumped straight in. If an idea sounds good I go for it, no warm ups or run ups. Thats how I got into trading lol, either I crash and burn or I make it work but I wont be dithering on the sidelines weighing up the options. Life is short right?

There is no harm in fasting. I have been doing it once a week for the past month and have been losing weight. Last meal on Saturday 18:00 and breakfast on Monday morning at 09:00 which is 39 hours with no food only water. The trick is to eat light (fish, nuts, vegetables etc) for the next 3 days because if you go large you undo the hard work.

I'm doing the 72 hours to test my resolve. Secondly to lose the goddamn muffin tops and get shredded abs. I know the fuckers are there because I work them twice a week and when I press my finger through the fat i can feel the bricks. 3rd is because I want to see if there are any health benefits to this. Not gonna know if I don't try.

Absolutely. Fasting is beneficial for the mind and body.

Agreed. I don't think our ancestors got three squares a day plus snacks lol... I usually do a small fast every day by skipping breakfast, so that's usually around 16 hours between dinner the night before and lunch.

Good luck @Grantx, interested to see how it works out for you.

I did intermittent fasting a few years back then I went on a perma bulk the past 4 years from 160 to high of 198 while staying around 12-14% bf. I'll be doing IF again for contest prep for classic physique bb contest.

Salts never arrived yesterday but they are coming today. Im going to do this after Christmas. I enjoy eating with the family over the holiday season....roast potatoes, gammon, vegetables, cupcakes and all the other nice things.
i dont think I will have a problem doing this at all. All I have eaten this week since Monday has been 2 cans of pilchards and I feel fine, not hungry or anything. Iev been swimming, running and, walking the dog twice.

Before you sneer at 'walking the dog' let me just tell you a thing or two about walking a dog in England:

Mud. I walk through the paths in the forest and there is ankle deep mud everywhere. I blame horses and rain, mainly horses. People love horses here but Im not a fan. Horses absolutely fuck the paths up. When I take the dog out it actually feels like a high altitude low oxygen mountaineering expedition. Its not walking its a quest of endurance. And Im being serious, its hard work. Yesterday my gumboot got 'sucked off' by the mud and my next step was nearly into the quagmire with my bare sock. So I was balancing with my left foot ankle deep in the mud and my other foot with no gumboot on was in the air. One false move and not only would I be very pissed off and seething at the horses and the rain and the mud, but also walking home with one cold foot in a sloshing gumboot full of mud. And this happens more frequently than the walk is worth yet I keep doing it. So thats walking a dog here in England. Its a test of mental and physical endurance. The horse people are so cheery and bloody happy but the lot of them can just get knotted.

I would love to se a pic of this trail! It seems to me, that if the mud is bad, it would be dangerous for the horses as well.
