Hi everyone,

I just ran a search for this and saw there was an old thread which had some cool posts in it but as it went quiet a while back I just wondered if there were any other Pilots or aviation lovers out there on the forum?

Professionally I fly rescue helicopters but love anything to do with flying. I thought it would be cool to start a thread where those with an interest in flying and trading could say hi to each other. I once bumped into a gentleman at a trading conference who was a Gulfstream captain who said traded from the aircraft. It got me thinking there must be some great stories out there from when the worlds of trading and aviation meet!

Anyway I look forward to seeing whos out there!

Regards.

Well done @Blash and @Devil Man

In earlier times I flew planes with same wing lenght as you did - but without motor.

That was in the seventies on a metal Blanik in Swiss Alps, then in the eighties modern gliders
came up. Also in the Swiss mountains. Sample here:

Special event and revival with a Blanik in the Mojave Desert as well!
Wonderful to be in 3rd dimension. Is of course the same underwater: I like scuba diving in
exotic places.

Good flights

Small time private pilot. Really enjoyed flying DC-3's. No interest in becoming a commercial pilot. Like flying bush.

Built a Murphy Super Rebel, working on a Zenith 701 now.

Best chopper pilots I have ever seen were USAF SAR Jolly pilots working out of Thailand in the 70's. Incredible....

Could of bought a really nice plane after being caught in a couple of locked limit OJ trades.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Sounds likes there's some cool stories out there.

@Blash UAV's definitely counts, it seems to be a huge growth market right now, I see a lot of companies developing UAS devisions, exciting times!

@dbarno Wow DC'3s thats awesome! I've always said I wanted to fly one before my time is up, such amazing aircraft. How did you get to do that? If I could do anything I'd do Bush work. I did a spell in Antarctica which was wonderful but in Scotland there isn't much call for it, Search and Rescue helicopters is the closes it gets so I'm lucky there!

I think I actually read a book about that a few years ago, I can't remember the title of it, was a great read though!

@GFIs1 That's cool, I've only ever been gliding once, loved it. Need to do more that's for sure!

@Devil Man Some great types there, all pretty majestic! A friend of mine is flying an MD-11 at the moment, not many of those beauties left!

@cesartrader Yes of course, all welcome!

I was just a pc flightsimmer. From doing everything wrong in the earlier versions of fs, to learning with web & forum/avsim.com info to simulate airnav.com flights with the pmdg addons in a virtual airline. Sadly for fsx since last year, for the most part I've moved on to Elite Dangerous.
