Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

Garmin ForeRunner 235.

It's a great watch, for a beginner runner like me.

Don't mind having a Rolex, but for now, it's FR235.

Sleep well, Eat Healthy, Breathe...

Solid choice on the Omega!

I wear a manual wind Speedmaster which cues my routine to start the daily prep. I've conditioned myself in a Palovian sense. =) I also use the timer function to help me get an objective perspective of time to realize that I may not have given a trade enough time to develop, just psychologically because 1 minute can seem like an eternity if I'm sitting there reading the time and sales log.

Yes, I know what you mean. I love winding up my Speedie in the morning as well. For me, the day has yet to start until I give my Speedie a nice winding and have my morning coffee

Yes, I was always partial to Breitlings, they make really cool aviator watches. They be sexy pilot watches.

Their newer Heritage line is quite sexy. Has that slightly vintage yet modern vibe to it. They also have it in a limited edition green bezel which is quite the looker in person.

Damn this thread, now I am ordering wood watches from China. $2.50 a piece, what could go wrong?

There are quite a few makers in Colombia. e.g. Mistura Colombia
https://amanoartisans.com/collections/unisex-maguaco-wood-watches

BTW thats Colombian Pesos not USD x-rates.com to get an idea.

I see wooden watches and sunglasses in a lot of stores here, at least three local makers.

My GF was laughing at me for dejectedly looking at pics of my Breitling last night. I only had it for 5 weeks, it was a gift. I even had a chamois leather cover (just push to one side to see the dial) to hide it when wearing as having your arm chopped off with a machete in town (Africa) can be inconvenient. To keep the leather dry I took that off in the jungle lodge shower... amateur move.

Edit: Idea, I run a homeless charity here, we might look at making and selling smartwatch covers for the poor to sell. Though security is good now, there is a tradtion of not wearing jewlery, few married women wear their rings for example. Might be popular though minimal profit.

Someting that I think gives me an edge trading is that I can control my perception of time pretty well and I do know the approximate time in my head. Something I could not do when I wore a watch I must admit, I used to constantly look at my wrist for something my mind could do. Maybe a cover could tempt me to get a smartwatch for trading alerts.

Futures Edge on FIO

Are you a NinjaTrader user?

I absolutely love my Tissot. It's not to bulky (always hated those HUGE ass faced watches!) and is clean and elegant.

Here is my watch:

Or you could check the time in the corner of the screen.

I had a Tissot once too. It didn't last too long. Really liked it.

Been a watch guy my whole life. Started with digitals as a kid and now only into mechanicals.

Have a Rolex GMT Master 2 on my radar for my next watch.... and then I feel my collection will be complete for quite some time.

These are my 3 daily wearers:

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chrono
Attachment 218097

Seiko SKX009
Attachment 218098

Omega Speedmaster Professional
Attachment 218099

And dress watch for those types of occasions
Seiko Cocktail Time
Attachment 218100

All pics borrowed from the web.

So what are you guys wearing these days?

You are young and materialistic. This stuff does not matter. Get on with what matters. Life is too short. Seriously.

It was a gift from a gf.

I liked it for the same reasons you did.

One day it stopped keeping time, or stopped altogether.

I was pissed, but to busy to do anything about it.
