I am very sorry for your loss. With three labs in the house, I know there are tough days ahead for me as well.
But, I think the best thing I can do is remember how fantastic of a friend they were every single day they lived, and how they enjoyed life, and did everything they could to make me happy.
I am sure the same is true of your dog, and he wants you to be happy, not sad.
After some mourning and reflection, I encourage you to go rescue another dog and give them a wonderful life. They will do the same for you.
His name was lennon.
The loss is very hard, but the life with them was beautiful and amazing.

I am sorry for the loss of your boy. I know exactly how it is. I had to put mine down 5 years ago. I do believe that when it comes to these companions you have to focus on the good life you gave them. There are so many dogs treated poorly and without homes and Lennon was a very lucky guy because of you. He got everything he needed from you and in return you received the kind of love and friendship only a dog can give. I
if he was sick or just old it doesn't matter. What matters is he does not suffer in any way. I understand your sadness due to the loss, but just remember all the good and how lucky he was.
