Interesting reading along with the SEC link I gave before detailing a rather pathetic amount of fines in most cases. Not surprised, I was watching the new series "Billions" today where someone comments that SEC fines are just a cost of doing business for large institutions and nothing for them to be concerned about.

Off the top of my head I would have to say with so many many loans falling into this category some would have been and others not. It would be more of a case by case thing. But I don't know for sure. Banks TO BIG TO FAIL and therefore saved by Uncle Sam I'm sure had to deal with this somehow inside the mortgage backed securities taking them apart? What a complete joke those things had a "great rating" by the likes of S&P. Makes me wonder just how many people there were that had 10 mortgages on at the same time as ARM's with short time periods and monstrous payments waiting on the other side of the new rate. I'd bet ones like that were written off. Can't get blood out of a turnip.

I actually enjoyed Carell and Gosling in this movie very much; they complemented each other very well. The only humorous part I found not funny were with Christian Bale.
