Personalities of Success

Thread to list "How personalities of success think/act/strive/persevere" Thoughts bigger than life - while striving for success / money / business / Risk / Trading (Passion/Motivation/Mindset).

How does success think or highly successful entrepreneurs/traders think or good characteristics to have for success. Will be great to share any public links of how highly successful people/traders think or talks about success/money/traders. Success in any vocation is similar and possibility of similar traits in highly successful traders to be present. If you think there are other examples or personal examples please share. This is not about a trading strategy rather a mindset or characteristics which at some level will be present in highly successful traders. A good vid on financial/capital markets or thoughts around the same are also welcome.

This is probably slightly different from motivational quotes/videos but at some degree extent may fall into similar realm. If so please feel free to post in appropriate thread.

Why did i start this thread. Always interested me in hearing from highly successful people in person/videos and likewise from success coaches/motivators/mentors. Hence thought of sharing what i like and similarly will be great to see what others like and keeps them inspired and possibly inching close to their goal.

will kick this off with certain public vids i like. this is not advice....just a light conversation on good habits/traits and positive thinking and mindsets/personalities, If you do not like it or agree feel free to ignore as this is not a thread geared to any bias even if it points to any vendor vids. The reason it points is i like the prezo thats all and its just something searchable in the public domain. what the bleep "lol its not quantum physics"--just a thread.

ahhhh Mindset is THE most important key to success!

The moment I realized this was back in 2005. I watched a movie called "The Secret" and it changed my thinking and my life.

From that time forward I realized how my mindset determined my reality and my future. Once you set a goal and believe and see yourself there, your mind acts accordingly and opens up the path to the goal.

This isn't just words on a page or a script in a movie. I applied it and did it.

I was a rep for a cosmetic company when I saw this movie. Their makeup was good, but pricey, and it made my face itch.
I started looking into ingredients. I found the ingredient that made me itch, and it was in MANY popular brands. I also found that the ingredients were cheap, and what they were selling for $24 and giving me 10% of was costing them pennies to manufacture.

This knowledge and my mindset allowed me to venture into formulating. I soaked up tons of knowledge and spent a year developing formulas. I saw myself in business, and being successful. I opened an online makeup biz in 2007 and have been profitable from the first year. Still in business.

I could NOT have done this without the right mindset. I highly recommend everyone watch the movie "The Secret". I also recommend "Think and Grow Rich". great book!

I'm applying this same mindset to trading. I've found a lot of indicators and combinations that don't work. To me it is not indicative of failure, but just one step closer to success.

I love Edison's reply when he was asked about his numerous failed attempts to create the lightbulb.
He replied "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work." I'm glad he didn't give up

love these (i find a lot of parallels between success/life & quantum physics...and feel parallels in what i see with trading.

Quantum physics is not about any particular thing & is still not really understood. Quantum physics however deals with our very existence and is an amalgamation of everything we see & do. lol many people phoo this and each to his own...but w/o quantum and light trading would not have been possible. Enjoy !!

Why do successful people presume to know the secrets of success?

After all, they are quite a small sample size of 1. They most likely overestimate the part of luck on their behalf too.

But anyway - if there is a personality type for success - what would be the point of knowing it? So you can give up if you don't fit?

When people study the successful, you don't hear of them confirming their findings by doing negative testing. For example finding thousands of people that fit their success profile that ended up as bums or drug addicts.

They also define success in very specific terms. Steve Jobs for instance made a lot of money. He was also instrumental in destroying family life for a lot of people that now live through their electronic devices.

Why don't we measure the success of someone that made enough money to take care of their kids and didn't strive to make more so that they could take care of their own health and spend lots of time with their children?

If you have any questions about the products or services provided, please send me a Private Message or use the futures.io "Ask Me Anything" thread

As Fromm put it: To have or to be?

For most people the basic condition of their entire life is "having" where the common denominator is money, simple as that.
But how depressing would it be for this majority to realize larger samples/the statistical population/universe? Finding out how
minuscule their chances are to e.g. enter the top 5 percent of the (materially) wealthiest worldwide, if only just?
So most are much better off looking at small samples and "deriving" principles of success - or even better: teaching these
principles to others

What is more interesting is that people fall for the same con job over and over and over. Every generation needs their guy in a suit in front of an audience talking about money with a special course for only $999.95

Success

I remember reading "The power of Consistency" by Weldon long. He invites the reader to create a Success / Prosperity plan by digging deep into the following questions.

What do you want in life / business?

What do you want to become in life / business ?

What do you want to contribute ?

Even if you dont agree with the power of subconscious and other aspects of mind, I think it is very relevant for every one to consider these questions and define success for them-self.

Yea Agree and i do not negate any @DionysusToast

No not give up if you do not fit the personality. The point was if we can learn something in case we can be better. if not and there can be various reasons for that, is also great.

Luck plays an equally important if not more in life, i truly know so. This is not to undermine anyone who is successful who has been taking good care of family and health. They truly are successful. And Health is Wealth.

The only point was to learn or get something from folks who have done well. I have seen quite many people follow footsteps of highly successful people and thereby also achieving. Maybe if they did not have any goals or role models
not sure they would achieve. Anyways this is to see if there are any aspects to learn. It will not be a one suit fit all as there are many aspects to what can be called success. Success/Goals/dreams will differ from individual to individual i guess

Pete i know many who would give quite some to be as successful in reading OF as you are. Well success is not just about $;s. It can also be skill in a particular vocation.

@choke35 agree. this is more to introspect and gauge if anything can be gained. What you say is correct...however truth and probably success are multi dimensional. no general comparison can be made and success is a criteria which will differ for everyone

@rahulgopi agree... i think success comes also from goals. having goals may be better than not having any....and probably leads to better chances....that's all.

@animalSpiritArb1 lol...am not sure if a con. Some of the most successful in the world do not or might not wear suits but very simple... But i know it takes quite many years of progressive education probably 20+ or so for someone to be good at becoming an engineer/doctor...etc, etc. People many time approach trading with far lesser skills and experience. Am guessing there are some aspects one can learn when listening to the grit/perseverance, etc from successful people(lol...atleast i can for my trading..since i always eat my own dog food). thats all.

thnx guys...great comments

"The power of consistency" is all about setting goals and committing to it. The difference is, goals are set at different levels based on the 3 questions. The whole idea is when you attach a goal to your life's purpose, it has a different depth, rather than setting a goal like X amount of $ per week / month or year etc. It is an interesting perspective

Though the thread has been very short...thanks to all for contributing. Truly appreciate all comments.

i have learnt quite a bit from you....and have decided to act and take up and practice/polish more on traits and personalities such as humility/skill/managing-risk as my corner stone for going after my eventual goal. also will practice balance in life and emotions. My priorities and responsibilities are slightly different at this current time....but will still pursue my dream and my longterm goal of success which is currently defined by one word ES and will give it my sincere attempt.

cheers n best to all..may success be with you
