Tried to relax and distract myself from thinking about trading today with beer and pork...

Are you using a slow 'n sear on your kettle for the bbq? I'm thinking about geting one for my Weber

Yes, I've got the slow 'n sear plus. Works as advertised and makes things easier, I would definitely recommend it.

Really glad to hear that. I had to hand off my Rec Tec pellet smoker to a friend due to a move and was looking into some alternative methods for the Weber. Hoping to eventually get a Yoder YS640 when I have the room again. Glad to hear the slow 'n sear is all it's cracked up to be. What are you using for probes with your Weber and slow 'n sear? Fantastic looking butt by the way. Is that a mustard based sauce you're using on your pork? Love it!

Bark on that butt looks fantastic!

Thanks, it turned out really well and that was some of the best bark I've had on a butt. I've got the ThermoWorks Smoke, it has a 300 foot range on it and I believe they're working on a gateway add-on with WiFi so you can connect it to an app on your phone and get unlimited range.

Good eye, yes that's Columbia Gold on them. I'm sure you've come across Amazing Ribs, but if you haven't it has some great recipes and equipment reviews.

I'm going to try that. Squash the patty real thin and deep fry with some cheese at the end. Add gherkin and fried onion. I'll probably use 2 or 3 patties though because too much bread and not enough meat is no good.
