So essentially its a contrived sporting event where players play for their countries but not necessarily for the teams they normally play for....kinda like the Olympics but with only one sport???????????? this is certainly true in Hockey where players are separated from their teams, cherry picked and formed into a national squad. In Canada there is lots of discussion as to who is picked for the final team after a training camp of the best. Not all selected are the best scorers though. They need "grinders" …
