Anyone Ride Motorcycles?

Hi Folks,

I was curious to know if any of y'all ride motorcycles. Currently, I ride a 2013 Kawi 650. Curious to if y’all ride and what types of bikes you own.

Used to ride cbr f4. Now married with 2 children. I truly miss riding, and plan to again once the kids go off to college.

Had a 500, and 750 Honda. Been riding Beemers most of the time. R80, R1000RS, presently a R1150RT. Maybe something different in spring.

Nothing clears the head like going for a ride at the end of a day. Sometimes between lunch break and closes of some markets.

I know what you mean about clearing the head. When I put my helmet on I become happy, I'm sure you all can relate. I would put motorcycles right up there with my passion for trading except it's not a hobby.

I've been riding a little under six months. I live in California, I got fed up with the bay area traffic. In a car it typically took me an hour to get to work and 2 hours to get home commuting in the Silicon Valley. Being able to lane split and use the HOV lane is a bonus. You just have to watch out for all the oblivious cagers. The motorcycle allows me to watch the markets a little longer before going to work.

I just move to CA and I am shocked by lane splitting. I think it is a suicidal action. And for the record I commuted for 5 years on my CBR F4 from Tacoma to Seattle.

I agree, it is dangerous, but you have to accept the risk, I guess . Buy good gear and be on the offense/defense when riding. I commute on the 880, dangerous commute without the lane splitting. Just throwing gasoline on the fire I guess.

Riding is the greatest thing on Earth if you ask me. Glad to hear you acknowledge the risk. It is dangerous either way so maybe it doesn't really make a difference. Stay safe.

2011 Yamaha YZF-R1. I had a Ducati 999 when I lived in London but for whatever reason I was not permitted to import it back to Canada... The R1 is a lot easier to maintain though I have to say.
