Ok I ll chime in now, as @Big Mike knows or sees, I really dont post to anyone's personal experiences or their pathways they choose in trading as of late, but here I am (u must be special) lol. Probably Im responding because of the way you evolved, first off everyone has emotional rides thru their trading careers. It "SUCKS" and most just dont express it or evolve to the latter stages. To the one's that have, we can relate to your journal, I remember back when you were using MA lines etc in ur trading I didnt follow along that much, but in recent times,I enjoy checking in. The main reason I can now relate to you now, and I listened in on a recent skype CL live trading calls, you reinforced ever core guideline a "real"trader must do. cut losers short, manage capital, manage emotions and have a high level of confidence on who's getting screwed

This thread is raw to someone who doesnt get it or know you personally.

Ok Im done carry on @GaryD

I could not be more pleased. I am so happy to be here.

I think 7-8 people have now traded live with me. I would like to have them post if they noticed anything different about my trading versus theirs.

I watched @GaryD trade live and he did not fret a missed opportunity(like I do at times) and waited patiently for the next setup.. Actually said... " that is ok.. no problem.. there will be another opportunity".. His coolnes while trading was impressive.. I could only aspire to be that calm while trading...He smoked it the day I saw him trade..

Oh.. and the fox says ........."fraka-fraka-fraka-kow".

Mortals are egotists including myself. Its clear that all the world's shortcomings, its follies, wants, and woes, indeed, all that is wrong to the world, may properly be stated to terms of egotism; that regardless of generally accepted beliefs as to the determining influence of heredity, environment, and sex, the originating cause of all abnormality, inefficiency, misery, and crime, is to be found in the human sense of self. Our thoughts alone determine our actions, that is all actions conscious and un-conscious originate in prior thoughts and beliefs. Everything is pre-meditated. Through a series of events I could hardly imagine repeating last week was a blunder. Gross profit = $4680, Loss due to waiting for more greed = $2300, Loss due to predicting the future = $1650, Loss due to misery = $300, Net profit = $430. The good news is I picked a lot of winners; this is 90% S&P. The good news is I am not repeating this cycle any more. The good news is I know exactly what I was thinking each time I clicked the mouse. I'm an egotist. Thats actually good when handled in the right way. Now another shot of wheatgrass please.

For me to truly understand your thought process would be to know more on the TPO chart and the 6 range Volume chart as I have never truly understood it, read a few posts on futures.io (formerly BMT) regarding it but not really connecting the dots.
The 1 min bars with the spike in volume has been an eye opener to see the behaviour.
My trading or lackoff is that I see divergences and trend days and sometimes fight the urge to short on an up or down trend day and that causes my trading losses.
Also, I noticed in your trading that you will let go of a trade if it doesnt behave well before a stop is hit versus I will continue to hold/pray/wish it turns around before it hits the stop or sometimes if lucky will go in my direction.
I think learning more on the nuances of the market versus indicators is what I want to lean on so your style appeals to me..hope this helps!

It must be a slow night when I find myself reading nonsensical threads such as this.

The paramount difference in our trading is the depth of your search for appropriate market structure for your trades. After watching you, I was left wondering whether I am missing something in my trading, (obviously or I wouldn't be here) or is this guy overdoing it? I was impressed with your ability to navigate all of the information on your multiple workspaces and make undoubtedly intelligent decisions based on the outcome, without taking much heat at all. But I think what is a more important difference is your ability to hit the button, whether it's to get in or out, whether you are ahead or trading at a loss, it's nothing. If you lose your $1K, you are done and you will come back the next day to fight again. Egotistical, could be. Realistic, definitely.

I just got some new insight;

I cannot teach anyone... who is not wired similar to me.

Egotistic?

Or

Realistic?

What happens is very similar to, "everthing works ... in context"... backtest something; it looks beautuful. And it works beautiful, when it works....

It is possibly the most beautiful thing,,, when it was put in the correct context

The emperor moth is the most majestic species among all the moths. One day a man found a cocoon of an emperor moth. He took it home so that he could watch the moth come out of the cocoon. He sat and watched the moth struggling to force the body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. It just seemed to be stuck.

The man, being kind, decided to help the moth. So he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The moth then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. He expected that the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the little moth spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. A few days later, it died.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the moth to get through the tiny opening was the way of forcing fluid from the body of the moth into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Freedom and flight would only come after the struggle. By depriving the moth of a struggle, he deprived the emperor moth of health and freedom. – Author Unknown
