Found a little spot in Seoul to get my German groove on:

Weihenstephan!..."the worlds oldest brewery"...my new favorite!

Nice!

It looks pretty wheaty like a pale ale? I always thought most German beers were stout.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer ale's. When I was growing up I would drink black and tan's but I don't think I would enjoy it any more. To be honest, not sure -- haven't tried one in a long time.

Around here you have two choices for beer:

I prefer the taste of Pilsener, but it's viewed as the "fishermans beer" (poor) and most of the restaurants don't carry it, only serving the more "upscale" club verde. Both are made by the same cerveceria (SAB Miller) in Guayaquil Ecuador.

And just noticed that AB InBev is planning a takeover bid of SABMiller according to news today... valued at > 100 billion.

Actually Weihenstephan isn't wheaty at all (to me anyway)..it's a pilsener but I found it to be light smooth and creamy...nice surprise. Earlier this evening I was drinking some India Pale Ale with dinner...and after...and... lol.

Funny you mention Pilsener..that's what I drink whenever I'm in Lima.... I like it a lot great beer goes with everything.

Black & Tan's followed by Irish Car Bomb's and shot's of Jameson bring back memories of terrible hangover's...ouch.
