Abbey 12 is definitely one of the best out there. For me it sets the bar for Belgian style beers.

I'd also suggest trying Dragons Milk.

I'm also a big fan of "breakfast stouts". Basically a stout with hints of coffee. Yum!

I recently tried this and with much surprise it was actually pretty tasty but not too intense as I was anticipating. I didn't really taste the peanut butter but it definitely had a nice coffee stout vibe going on. There was some interesting flavors I couldn't quite put my finger on that left me guessing. I'd definitely have it again. Worth a purchase and definitely an interesting name.

Also a big fan of ABT 12. I've recommended it to friends with a taste for Belgian style for some time now. I always have a couple bottles in the fridge, one for myself and one for the uninitiated.

Deschutes Brewery just began distribution in NE so I finally tried The Abyss. My expectations were huge after reading rave reviews for the past few years, and I wasn't disappointed. It is as unique in flavor, mouth feel, body and aroma as ABT 12 is, and I highly recommend it.

I love beer. Don't brew because I don't have time or patience. When I visited Portland they had an awesome selection of micro brews throughout town. It was awesome.

Portland just has micro brewery after micro brewery, it's really a beer lover's paradise. I went to Deschutes Brewery Portland and had a Delish elk burger for the first time. As I walked out on the street some bum was playing beautiful acoustic guitar music with a backdrop of a tall misty pine tree mountain in the distance almost as if he had been hired to do so. I'm definitely more inclined to give bum's money when they have skills and usually the do in portland unlike philly.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the Food Trucks and Pubs. Reminds me a lot of Austin, but it is way bigger. And the scenery is much prettier with Mt Hood and St. Helen's in the background.

Just got this so I'll do a little review because I was looking for an imperial stout and this is what I decided since I've never had it before.

it's best chilled
pours jet black with a dark tan almost orange head.
smells like raisins, yeast, and malt.

has a nice sweet roasted malt, dark chocolate, a little bitter, pretzel like flavor. Hints of coffee, tire, and vanilla.

very smooth going down almost like silk with a nice bread / baked goods after taste.

8% abv. so be careful with this one, I can feel the alcohol at work with only drinking half the beer.

I tried Blue Moon for the first time (I know right?). Very good light beer. I don't care for fruit beer very much but the orange was a nice touch.

Nice change to my usual Irish Red or Scottish Ale.

Tonight my drink is Nitro milk stout.

It's very very smooth and crisp. It's almost so smooth it's like @srgtroy's voice. It pours jet black and has all the same qualities as most stouts with the hints of coffee and raisins but this one is a little different, not in taste, but in drinkability. This beer is as drinkable as a bud light, it really is. Not heavy at all.

This is my favorite stout just like my favorite president

Everything sounds good, except the word "milk". Yuk!
