Interesting. I've read that quite a few manufacturing jobs will be returning home to the USA, so you will see more Made in USA things. BUT, it won't do anything for the jobs situation as when the return home the manufacturing will be done by robots.
Even the Chinese are doing that. They now have a robot that cuts noodles and puts them in soup. Machine costs equivalent of $2000 compared to hiring someone to do it which costs on average $4700 per year.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I've bought knockoffs in Thailand that look exactly like the real thing, feel like the real thing and three wearings later, they are totally ruined. Funny how the real thing bought in the states but made somewhere in Asia manages to last for several years if you take care of it.
I quit buying knockoffs unless I actually needed something temporary. I arrived Taipai once with no luggage and needed something to wear for three days. Bought some stuff, wore it three days and threw it away.....it needed to be thrown away by that time.

I actually quite like the chinese knockoff shopping scheme... get a beauty tommy hill shirt for six bucks, perfect replica, wear it for two months, and a get a new wardrobe... could sure use some threads now, my god, four years since the crash and the start of my intraday trading career, I am still alive... ragged in rags, but breathing...

I would also say that not one of the 80 million carded communists in China, a wonderful badge to carry around if you are in middle kingdom, have ever heard of Milton Friedman and could not care less about his economic models... and they sure as aren't lining up to be enlightened.... people over here are so naive...

The notion that buying something made domestically will boost the economy has become an article of faith during the economic crisis. And many businesses are trying to capitalize on that by attaching a "Made in USA" label to their products.
Brownells is the only website I have shopped at that had a made in USA filter. Danner boots make excellent made in USA boots. They cost a few hundred but will last forever if taken care of. Same deal with Allen Edmonds dress shoes, Park Ave's, made in USA and will last forever. New Balance makes a big deal about being made in USA but I have been to the New Balance store here in San Antonio and every piece of footwear in there is made in Asia. Duluth Trading sells made in USA blue jeans for the low, low price of only $84.95. They are the only made in USA jeans I could find.
