Students who bullied N.Y. bus monitor are suspended for a year

Four middle school students caught on camera verbally abusing their bus monitor have been suspended for a year and will be required to complete 50 hours of community service, school district officials said Friday.

"Following individual meetings this week with school and district administrators, each family waived their right to a hearing and agreed to one-year suspensions from school and regular bus transportation," the Greece Central School District said in a statement.

I was pretty shocked by this story. And worse, a 68 yr old trying to do her part. I agree those kids "have no parents". clockwork orange mentality. I would blame some of the out of control modern entertainment media , especially anti-social themed video games and some tv/internet channel programming for setting bad examples. Not all of those kids will change or feel remorse but at least they now recognize there are consequences.
