PD: Teenager Tried To Rob Officer At Police Station

WILMER (CBSDFW.COM) – If you had to pick a place to rob — a police station would probably be at the bottom of the list. That would be you. But one would-be North Texas robber apparently thought PD was a good place to ‘knock off.’

Police say Keithan Manuel walked into the Wilmer Police Department Saturday evening. The 18-year-old had a white towel covering his hands.

Police Chief Victor Kemp described the incident saying, “Yeah well, a young man walked into the lobby and approached the dispatch window there and told our Communications Officer ‘give me all your money.’”

After pointing a towel-covered hand at the officer and making the statement, Manuel soon changed his tune and claimed he was there to get some information.

“He said he’d like to check on a warrant, but it was pretty obvious it was a situation…he gave a different name and after a few moments of maybe playing it off he said ‘you do know I have a gun’. At that point he seemed to be very serious,” Chief Kemp said.

It was then the officer decided she didn’t feel like ‘joking’.

“She called for officers immediately and called for backup from another agency,” Kemp recalled. “The officers arrived and were able to take him down at gunpoint.”

Manuel didn’t have a weapon.

Manuel remains is in the Dallas County Jail with a $200,000 bond for several charges, including Robbery.

Of the entire incident Chief Kemp said, “This young man wasn’t using his head for sure.” “You hear of those World’s Dumbest Criminals every once in a while but you never think it’s gonna happen in your city.”

Man caught stealing clock from a POLICE STATION

A suspected shoplifter is vying for the title of America's dumbest criminal - after being caught stealing a clock from a police station.

Michael Marquez was waiting in an interview room to be questioned after being held on suspicion of shoplifting from a store in Panama City, Florida.

As a detective watched from outside the room Marquez reached up and took a clock off the interview room wall and stuffed it into his backpack.

The detective entered the room and immediately retrieved the wall clock.

Marquez, 34, and Dennis Baugham, 51, had been arrested after they were spotted fighting under Hathaway Bridge in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Officers found the two men in possession of a shopping cart that had been taken from a nearby store.

They also had a stash of brand new camping equipment including a tent, a camping stove, and camping fuel, which police suspected had been stolen.

Both men were taken to Panama City Police station while detectives made inquiries about the alleged stolen goods.

While left alone in the interview room Marquez reached up and took the clock.

Both men were booked into the Bay County Jail and charged with possession of the stolen shopping cart.

Marquez faces an additional charge of petit theft for stealing the clock.

Futures Edge on FIO

How much money do you need to trade futures successfully?

A guy nicknamed "Spider" won the award by me about 15 years ago.

He robbed a bank with a mask on - but was wearing shorts - that left a tatto on his calf exposed.

Later that day he used some of the money to bail out his gf and it was identified.
