Interesting. Do you have any reference for this? I've never heard this from any source. (The first statement in red)

If you do a search on Google, I am sure you will find more on this.

I have been taking nascent iodine for a while. A superb formulation is sold at infowars store, Dr Group's web site and Mike Adams web site. Nascent iodine works against the radiation (thyroid) and cleans the whole endocrine system.

Most people are unaware that iodine deficiency is rampant in the US. Once in a while I add a few drops of Lugol's solution to my morning coffee.

However you need to be careful with supplementation. Too much can PERMANENTLY DAMAGE the thyroid. Be aware of how much you are taking and DON'T OVERDO IT.

So far two of the most abundant and dangerous contaminants spreading widely from Fuku are Cesium 137 and Strontium 90. An adequate intake of iodine does help to protect against cancer in general, but will not prevent the absorption and long term internal retention of these insidious poisons, neither of which occurs in nature. In the human body they are mistaken for potassium and calcium respectively.

Vegans need to take supplemental Vitamin B12. The methylcobalamin form is much better, it's what I use. It's an absolute must, you WILL NOT get the B12 you need from plants and deficiency can be literally life threatening.

China syndrome 10x?

Not to under cut the importance of what is happening with the nuclear melt down in Japan,
have you seen what this guy is saying, since he is hawking his book?
Aleins, Extinction, etc.
Seeing he annouces himself as such an expert on so many things, I am taking him with a grain of salt.

Having said that, what is going on with the melt down is bad but I try not to listen to anyone who is
selling something and then comes out and gives out opinions on all sort of things.
Examples:

These people who use fear to sell a book or something are in my opinion con artists.
If he had kept it on one topic, I would take him more seriously.
Just trying to grab headlines to hawk his book.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is another one that seems to me anyway as hawking something.

I guess being a tenured Astrophysicist Prof is not enough anymore.

Another is Depak Chopra MD,new age guru. Tons of books, seminars.

Michio Kaku, own website. Too bad Einstein,Bohr,Oppenheimer are not here, put them in their place.

I personally just take the best they have to offer and run with it,filter out the bs.

There is an excellent documentary about the post tsunami disaster events from NHK world.

One of the most locally damaging events was the rupture of the Unit 2 containment vessel. This happened because two separate emergency venting systems would not work, allowing the pressure in the vessel to get higher than it could withstand - just like what would happen if you tied down the safety jiggler and welded shut the vent plug on your stove top pressure cooker.

The SR (steam release) valves would not work because they were designed in a way that made them impossible to open when the pressure in the containment got abnormally high - in other words, so that they could not work when actually needed. They are operated by pistons moved by stored, pressurized nitrogen gas, but the force required to open the valves increases with the pressure inside the containment vessel. Above a certain level of vessel pressure, the nitrogen pressure is not sufficient to move the pistons. This seems to show that nobody ever expected that these valves would ever have to work, and that they were installed as "window dressing" to satisfy regulatory requirements that were intended to be cosmetic.

The drywell vent valve actuator is powered by an air compressor delivering air through a 70 meter long pipe. That pipe was built to a low level of earthquake shock resistance. Opening the vent valve is the last resort to release excessive pressure that would otherwise blow out the vessel. The valve could not be opened, probably because the pipe broke.

Eventually the vessel blew out and there was a massive release of radioactivity. Pieces of plutonium were found many kilometers away.

As of today it is believed that the containment vessels of Units 1, 2, and 3 have all failed, allowing the release of intensely radioactive nuclear fuel into the ground under the plant. Nuclear reactions are believed to be continuing, and some experts have speculated that eventual subterranean explosions could contaminate the site to such an extent that any further remediation would become impossible.

These two distinct and unrelated failure modes are indicative of the shockingly moronic level of slipshod design in the Mark 1 power generating system. Thanks, GE! You won't see Jack Welch or any of their other Management Gods taking credit for these acts of brilliance. I haven't heard anything about these idiotic design deficiencies being addressed at any of the dozens of identical plants back here in our very own National Security State... have you?

As far as I know there aren't any nuclear power plants in Ecuador. Human life there will probably remain possible for somewhat longer than in the United States, although total human extinction by 2030 does seem to be progressing on schedule and under budget. By the way, in person, Dr. Guy McPherson is very charming, level headed, down to earth, and extremely convincing - was lucky enough to see him give a talk locally.
