I've been in the beta , looks like it will be a fun one that won't demand that you play all the time. Haven't checked in on it lately, but the first act is polished (the only part you get to play in the beta) they have just been working some on balance mechanics and drop rates.
If the later acts of the game are finished, then it could have been released already by many publishers standards.

Between this and Guild Wars 2 I could have a very busy gaming year.

Man I loved UO!
Just being able to get my horse/pack mule to carry stuff that I was mining... so realistic! lol

I am being serious. Sad I know, but I've always loved RPG's.

haha ya i remember.. taming wyrms(or whatever they were called.. the big white dragons) and using them to kill everything.. or the last halfhour before the server went down you could gather at the grave yard and have a huge battle and when you logged back in when it came back up all your stuff was back to normal.. im not a huge gamer but i did play the mortal online beta but it still had a long ways to go and i think it scared ppl off.. and i have signed up for guildwars 2 beta but i dont think its much like ultima online..

Sad to say, me too... Being a programmer, admitting the problem hits harder...
I like the free range type of RPGs like DaggerFall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. I did love the old Ultima series on the Apple II, don't know if you remember wizardry, another great one!

Release is set for 5/15.
But I honestly thing the game still has a lot of issues to address. For one, weapon weapon. It is non-existing. Making using long weapon like Polearms useless.

I have been playing The Witcher 2 lately, just came out on xbox. The story is absolutely awesome, blows Skyrim out of the water. You might try it.

oh ok.. thanks for the tip.. i actually dont own any console gaming systems, never really got into em that much.. actually i never really was into gaming accept for counter strike and UO.. i did like the MMO aspect of UO and i guess the setting of it.. i have been following MO, mortal online and even did some beta testing on it. from what i have heard from the masses is that its just not there yet.. but it is sandbox like UO was..

Hummm....
Got the game and the first time I was going to try it, it wouldn't work. Server was down for service! I didn't know I was only buying a client. Game is nice, but things seem to "Jump" in the game. My screen seems smooth so I don't think it is performance on my end, but my latency is 250ms. Do others see this issue?

In one way a sad story Taiwanese gamer dies after 40 hour Diablo III session
On the other hand a harsh warning about what stress can bring about.
