I'm of a very similar mind. I'm not sure about retail trading; it may be outlawed during the crises, fooh. But yes, solar power or an exercise bike generator to have some electricity going.

Maybe there should be a new thread on survival preparedness. (or is that going too far on futures.io (formerly BMT)) Like where to get seeds. Links for survival training etc. You can find some stuff relatively cheap stuff on Amazon. I've been slowly stocking up the back trunk of my car with a few items: portable stream water filter, sets of fiber rope, glow sticks, jumper cable, a cylindrical pack of seeds, glass breaking tool. Victorinox Swiss army knife always in the glove compartment (has helped already).

I haven't gone that far as one guy I know who has like 12 different guns or such and their own cabin in the woods.
