I received this via Dr. Mercola's newsletter.

Story at-a-glance A massive data-mining virus named “Flame” has been detected in computers in the Middle East, particularly in Iran. It’s the first virus found with the added ability to spread wirelessly by attaching itself to Bluetooth-enabled devices. Once there, it can trace and steal information stored on those devices. The program also contains a “microbe” command that can activate any microphone within the device and record audio files
The NSA is building a massive spy center in Bluffdale, Utah, which will intercept, decipher, analyze, and store vast amounts of the world’s communications—both foreign and domestic
As of the first week of June, Google will warn you when it picks up activity on your computer account that looks suspiciously like state-sponsored monitoring of your computer activities
To re-secure your account, Google recommends creating a unique password that includes a mix of capital letter, lowercase letters, punctuation marks and numbers; enable 2-step verification; and update your browser, operating system, plugins, and document editors

Here is the article in full by Dr. Mercola, (at the bottom is a petition to sign)

Big Brother is watching. No kidding. And the warning is coming from none other than Google, which says government spies may be spying on you. Some believe the Google announcement may be related to the recent discovery of the data-mining virus named "Flame." In a June 3 New York Times article, Andrew Kramer and Nicole Perlroth write1:

"When Eugene Kaspersky, the founder of Europe's largest antivirus company, discovered the Flame virus that is afflicting computers in Iran and the Middle East, he recognized it as a technologically sophisticated virus that only a government could create.

He also recognized that the virus, which he compares to the Stuxnet virus built by programmers employed by the United States and Israel, adds weight to his warnings of the grave dangers posed by governments that manufacture and release viruses on the internet.

"Cyberweapons are the most dangerous innovation of this century," he told a gathering of technology company executives... While the United States and Israel are using the weapons to slow the nuclear bomb-making abilities of Iran, they could also be used to disrupt power grids and financial systems or even wreak havoc with military defenses."

Mr. Kaspersky claims he was called in to investigate the new virus on behalf of the International Telecommunication Union, an agency of the United Nations. The virus was allegedly erasing files on computers belonging to the Iranian oil ministry.

What makes the Flame virus a major potential concern for common citizens of the world is the fact that it's the first virus found with the ability to spread wirelessly by attaching itself to Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Once there, it can not only trace and steal information stored on those devices; according to Kramer and Perlroth the program also contains a "microbe" command that can activate any microphone within the device, record whatever is going on at the time—presumably whether you're actually using the device or not—and transmit audio files back to the attacker. This, clearly, has huge privacy implications were it to be deployed against civilian populations.

New Revelations about the Links Between Flame and Stuxnet

While cybersecurity experts initially claimed there were no links between the earlier Stuxnet worm and the Flame virus, a recent article on The Verge now reports that the two are undoubtedly related2. Joshua Kopstein writes:

"[I]n examining an earlier version of Stuxnet, the lab's researchers now find that they were wrong: a previously overlooked module within the virus is now providing the "missing link" between the two pieces of malware. The module in question... matches very closely with a module used by an early version Flame. "It was actually so similar, that it made our automatic system classify it as Stuxnet," wrote Alexander Gostev... indicating that the module was likely the seed of both viruses. "We think it's actually possible to talk about a 'Flame' platform, and that this particular module was created based on its source code."

The new evidence suggests that Stuxnet and Flame are two sides of the same coin, with the former built for sabotage and the latter for surveillance. But researchers also say that the Flame platform pre-dated Stuxnet and its sister, Duqu, and was likely built in the Summer of 2008."

InformationWeek Security recently offered the following advice3:"... Microsoft has been working quickly to patch the certificate bug exploited by Flame. Notably, Microsoft released an update Friday [June 8] for Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2), which according to the release notes "strengthens the WSUS communication channels ... [by] trusting only files that are issued by the Microsoft Update certification authority."

Microsoft is also set to issue an update Tuesday--as part of its monthly Patch Tuesday--that will further update all supported versions of Windows to block Flame. Security experts are recommending that all users install the update as soon as possible, since attackers will likely attempt to use the certificate vulnerability before it becomes widely patched. "Apply the certificate patch released a week ago today if you haven't done so already," said SANS Institute chief research officer Johannes B. Ullrich in a blog post. "This way, no patch signed by the bad certificate should be accepted tomorrow. Patch Tuesday is one of the best dates to launch such an attack, as you do expect patches anyway."

When installing the update, however, do so preferably only if using a trusted environment. "Avoid patches while 'on the road.' Apply them in your home [or] work network whenever possible," said Ullrich. "This doesn't eliminate the chance of a 'man in the middle' (MitM) attack, but it reduces the likelihood."

For users who must update while on the road, perhaps because they travel frequently, always use a VPN connection back to the corporate network, said Ullrich, since hotel networks can be malware and attack hotbeds. "Hotel networks and public hotspots frequently use badly configured HTTP proxies that can be compromised and many users expect bad SSL certificates--because of ongoing MitM attacks," he said."

Spy Central: Utah

In related news, Wired Magazine recently reported that the US government is building a massive spy center, right in the heart of Mormon country, in Bluffdale, Utah4--so massive, in fact, that once finished, the facility will be five times larger than the US Capitol.

According to Wired Magazine:

"Under construction by contractors with top-secret clearances, the blandly named Utah Data Center is being built for the National Security Agency. A project of immense secrecy, it is the final piece in a complex puzzle assembled over the past decade. Its purpose: to intercept, decipher, analyze, and store vast swaths of the world's communications as they zap down from satellites and zip through the underground and undersea cables of international, foreign, and domestic networks. The heavily fortified $2 billion center should be up and running in September 2013.

Flowing through its servers and routers and stored in near-bottomless databases will be all forms of communication, including the complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls, and Google searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails—parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital "pocket litter." It is, in some measure, the realization of the "total information awareness" program created during the first term of the Bush administration—an effort that was killed by Congress in 2003 after it caused an outcry over its potential for invading Americans' privacy.

But "this is more than just a data center," says one senior intelligence official who until recently was involved with the program. The mammoth Bluffdale center will have another important and far more secret role that until now has gone unrevealed. It is also critical, he says, for breaking codes.

And code-breaking is crucial, because much of the data that the center will handle—financial information, stock transactions, business deals, foreign military and diplomatic secrets, legal documents, confidential personal communications—will be heavily encrypted. According to another top official also involved with the program, the NSA made an enormous breakthrough several years ago in its ability to cryptanalyze, or break, unfathomably complex encryption systems employed by not only governments around the world but also many average computer users in the US.

The upshot, according to this official: "Everybody's a target; everybody with communication is a target."[Emphasis mine]

That about says it all. And for those of you still under the mistaken belief that the US government does not have the authority to spy on its citizens, consider the following:

"... [The NSA] has undergone the largest building boom in its history, including installing secret electronic monitoring rooms in major US telecom facilities. Controlled by the NSA, these highly secured spaces are where the agency taps into the US communications networks, a practice that came to light during the Bush years but was never acknowledged by the agency. The broad outlines of the so-called warrantless-wiretapping program have long been exposed...

In the wake of the program's exposure, Congress passed the FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which largely made the practices legal. Telecoms that had agreed to participate in the illegal activity were granted immunity from prosecution and lawsuits. What wasn't revealed until now, however, was the enormity of this ongoing domestic spying program.

For the first time, a former NSA official has gone on the record to describe the program, codenamed Stellar Wind, in detail...

As chief and one of the two cofounders of the agency's Signals Intelligence Automation Research Center, [William] Binney and his team designed much of the infrastructure that's still likely used to intercept international and foreign communications. He explains that the agency could have installed its tapping gear at the nation's cable landing stations—the more than two dozen sites on the periphery of the US where fiber-optic cables come ashore.

If it had taken that route, the NSA would have been able to limit its eavesdropping to just international communications, which at the time was all that was allowed under US law.

Instead it chose to put the wiretapping rooms at key junction points throughout the country... thus gaining access to not just international communications but also to most of the domestic traffic flowing through the US. The network of intercept stations goes far beyond the single room in an AT&T building in San Francisco exposed by a whistle-blower in 2006. "I think there's 10 to 20 of them," Binney says... The eavesdropping on Americans doesn't stop at the telecom switches. To capture satellite communications in and out of the US, the agency also monitors AT&T's powerful earth stations...

... Binney suggested a system for monitoring people's communications according to how closely they are connected to an initial target. The further away from the target—say you're just an acquaintance of a friend of the target—the less the surveillance. But the agency rejected the idea, and, given the massive new storage facility in Utah, Binney suspects that it now simply collects everything..."

To learn more, I highly recommend reading the featured Wired article5 in its entirety. It's a fascinating read, but it will not likely make you sleep better at night. The full article is available on their website and is free to view.

Google Also in the Privacy News

Beginning the first week of June, Google will warn you every time it picks up activity on your computer account that looks suspiciously like someone trying to monitor your computer activities. Google won't say how it figured out that state-sponsored attackers may be attempting to compromise your account or computer. But it's promised to let you know if it thinks Big Brother is tuned in to what you're doing.

As recently reported on the New York Times' blog6, the warning will pop up at the top of your Gmail inbox, Google home page, or Chrome browser, stating:

"Warning: We believe state-sponsored attackers may be attempting to compromise your account or computer."

According to a Google blog post by Eric Grosse, VP of Security Engineering at Google7:

"If you see this warning it does not necessarily mean that your account has been hijacked. It just means that we believe you may be a target, of phishing or malware for example, and that you should take immediate steps to secure your account.

Here are some things you should do immediately: create a unique password that has a good mix of capital and lowercase letters, as well punctuation marks and numbers; enable 2-step verification as additional security; and update your browser, operating system, plugins, and document editors.

Attackers often send links to fake sign-in pages to try to steal your password, so be careful about where you sign in to Google and look for https://accounts.google.com/ in your browser bar. These warnings are not being shown because Google's internal systems have been compromised or because of a particular attack."

The Next Big War Zone = the Internet

Unless you've been living under a rock this past year, you've surely heard about the repeated attempts to restrict your online freedom and grant government near limitless control over the internet and its content.

It began in January with the introduction of two proposed laws in US Congress: the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). While "sold" as laws to address online copyright infringement, most of which allegedly arise from outside the US, both laws contained measures capable of severely restricting online freedom of speech and harm web sites and online communities of all kinds, including this one. After tens of millions of people rose up in various protests, both online and by hitting the pavement, both bills were "indefinitely postponed."

Many have warned, however, that the bills are not "dead" and are likely to return.

It didn't take long for the next round. In April, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) was brought forth, and quickly became described by opponents as an even greater threat to internet freedom than SOPA and PIPA. I won't go into any detailed discussion on these bills here, but simply want to bring your attention to the fact that bills such as these three, while dressed up as laws that will protect you and save you money, are poorly guised attempts to gut privacy laws and open the door for a totalitarian takeover of the internet and its content.

Campaign for Liberty8 is continuing its fight to stop another government intrusion, warning that this coming December, the United Nations will also be meeting to compile even more recommendations for international internet regulations.

While it may seem hopeless at times, I urge you to take an active role anytime the opportunity presents itself to take a stand. I personally believe internet freedom and health freedom go hand in hand these days, as a majority of people get a majority of their health information from freely available web sites such as mine.

Right now, you can sign the Campaign for Liberty Protect Internet Freedom Mandate.

If Squelching In formation Freedom Doesn 't Work, What's Next?

The draconian advancements in surveillance do not end with the erection of a massive spy central and ever-increasing attacks on internet freedom. We also have some 63 drone launch sites within the US9, and the US military has admitted it now has drone technology in the form of tiny mechanical insects, equipped with cameras, microphones, and DNA sampling capabilities10.

Besides that, there's an ever-expanding arsenal of so-called "active denial weapons"—directed energy weapons that can scatter or incapacitate those in its path, by a variety of means11. Such weapons are already being used domestically by various law enforcement agencies for crowd control. Then there are more sinister signs of readiness for domestic combat. In April, news reports began circulating questioning the Department of Homeland Security's rationale for purchasing 450 million rounds of hollow point bullets12

A report by RT News reads:

"The department has yet to discuss why they are ordering such a massive bevy of bullets for an agency that has limited need domestically for doing harm, but they say they expect to continue receiving shipments from the manufacturer for the next five years, during which they plan to blow through enough ammunition to execute more people than there are in the entire United States.

... the choice — and quantity — of its hollow point order raises a lot of questions about future plans for the DHS... On their website, the contractor claims that the ammunition is specifically designed so that it can pass through a variety of obstructions and offers "optimum penetration for terminal performance." Or, in other words, this is the kind of bullet designed to stop any object dead in its tracks and, if emptied into the hands of the DHS a few hundred million times, just might do as much.

... As the DHS gains more and more ground in fighting terrorism domestically, the US at the same time has turned the tables to make its definition of terrorist way less narrow. With any American blogger or free thinking on the fringe of what the government can go after under H.R. 347, or the National Defense Authorization Act that allows for the indefinite detention of US citizens without charge, the DHS could just be blasting through what's left of its budget to make sure that its roster of agents across the country can get in their target practice over the next few years."

Without Online Freedom, You Cannot Exercise Health Freedom

Some of you may at this point wonder why I report on an issue such as this, so let me make this point clear. Access to health information could easily be deemed a "threat" to national welfare—especially when web sites such as this one publish information that contradicts the official government stance. Examples such as advising women against national mammography screening standards, or raising concerns about vaccine safety, or questioning conventional cancer treatments could all be considered a threat to an extremely profitable status quo.

In such a scenario, they could simply shut Mercola.com, and others like us, down; leaving you with no truth-telling, corruption-exposing, alternative voices other than the officially sponsored viewpoint. And it should be quite clear by now that the government-sanctioned stance on most issues relating to health and diet are primarily dictated by powerful lobbying groups furthering financially-driven industry agendas that have absolutely nothing to do with optimizing health and longevity.

Don't Be Fooled—Internet Security Bills are Likely Nothing of the Sort

Interestingly enough, CISPA is promoted primarily as a cyber security bill, which brings us full circle back to where this article started. Recall, the Flame virus has surveillance capabilities that far surpass previous viruses and worms that may collect or destroy data. In fact, its capability to transfer to Bluetooth-enabled gadgets and secretly activate microphones renders it perfect for spying on anyone and everyone, anywhere, at any time... which is exactly the plan, if you believe the information detailed in the featured Wired Magazine article above.

It's interesting to note the rationale used when trying sell us this bill. According to an April 26 report in the International Business Times13:

"Co-sponsor Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Md., says CISPA provides essential tools for repelling online security threats: "Without important, immediate changes to American cyber security policy, I believe our country will continue to be at risk for a catastrophic attack on our nation's vital networks, networks that power our homes, provide our clean water or maintain the other critical services we use every day."

Sounds like he was talking about an eventuality just like the Flame virus, or the older Stuxnet worm, for that matter—both of which, incidentally, appear to have targeted Iranian oil- and nuclear facilities, and neither of which has been officially traced back to any country or agency, despite our already overwhelming security apparatus—just over a month before Flame was discovered by a Russian antivirus company which, by the way, currently employs the virus hunter who discovered Stuxnet in 2010.

I'll leave the meaning of such coincidences for you to ponder. But suffice it to say, it does not bode well if a law like CISPA is enacted that allows companies and governments to share information collected online, especially when combined with a massive data-mining virus that can skip around from one wireless piece of technology to another, from computers to cell phones to iPads, gathering data on every single social network contact every single person has, and audio files on every single conversation any one might have at any point in time. Especially now that we will shortly have the facility to store and "process" all that data.

In closing, I will simply urge you to take efforts at curbing online freedom and extending the government's reach seriously, and whenever such efforts are launched, take action to help preserve your right to health freedom, which is closely tied to the right to online freedom of speech.

For right now, you can take a stand by signing the Campaign for Liberty Protect Internet Freedom Mandate.

This article came with a video interview of an attorney representing 7 whistleblowers but I wasn't able to copy the link. You could go to Democracrynow.com and see if you could find it. You can also just jump to the end of this article and read what another whistleblower recommends we do, to protect our health, seeing the FDA isn't watching out for us.

By Dr. Mercola

In the wake of shocking reports on how the FDA, terrified of being outed for its questionable practices, spied on its own employees in the hopes of rooting them out before they could become whistleblowers, a new story has emerged on how deep the deceit goes. From marginalizing safety reports to not reading them at all―and then going ahead and approving the drugs in question―the FDA once more stands accused of being little more than a rubber-stamping agency for Big Pharma.

Explosive revelations of an intensive spy operation by the FDA on its own scientists emerged last month. Using sophisticated spy software, the agency tracked and logged every move made by the targeted individuals. The program even intercepted personal emails and copied documents on their personal thumb drives.

The targeted scientists had expressed concern over the agency's approval of dangerous medical imaging devices for mammograms and colonoscopies, which they believe expose patients to dangerous levels of radiation. Now, another whistleblower has stepped forward, and what he has to say about the agency's drug safety reviews is shocking even to the jaded...

Former FDA Reviewer Speaks Out About Systemic Suppression of Safety

Ronald Kavanagh was a drug reviewer for the FDA in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research from 1998 to 2008. In a recent interview he reveals how the FDA bypassed or ignored safety issues on major drugs approved during his employment. In an interview for the online news magazine Truth-Out, he tells Martha Rosenberg1:

"In the Center for Drugs [Center for Drug Evaluation and Research or CDER], as in the Center for Devices, the honest employee fears the dishonest employee.

There is also irrefutable evidence that managers at CDER have placed the nation at risk by corrupting the evaluation of drugs and by interfering with our ability to ensure the safety and efficacy of drugs. While I was at FDA, drug reviewers were clearly told not to question drug companies and that our job was to approve drugs. We were prevented, except in rare instances, from presenting findings at advisory committees.

In 2007, formal policies were instituted so that speaking in any way that could reflect poorly on the agency could result in termination. If we asked questions that could delay or prevent a drug's approval - which of course was our job as drug reviewers - management would reprimand us, reassign us, hold secret meetings about us, and worse. Obviously in such an environment, people will self-censor."

According to Kavanagh, people would be shocked if they knew just how malleable safety data is. As examples, he points out that human studies are typically too short and contain too few subjects to get a clear picture of potential risks. In such a scenario, even a single case of a serious adverse event must be taken very seriously, and data from other longer term safety studies also need to be carefully analyzed. Kavanagh claims he has seen drug reviews where the medical safety reviewer completely failed to make such evaluations prior to the drug's approval.

FDA Actively Thwarts Serious Safety Investigations

There's no telling how many ineffective and/or dangerous drugs and medical devices have been approved and ushered into market through sheer intimidation and bullying, either by pharmaceutical companies or FDA management. Perhaps even more shocking are the revelations that some of the internal rules and regulations of the FDA are clearly designed to thwart serious safety reviews from the get-go.

According to Kavanagh:

"[H]uman clinical pharmacology trials are typically done in Europe, yet clinical pharmacology reviewers at FDA have been barred from analyzing this information prior to studies being conducted in the US. Without being able to do this, we are unable to detect evidence of risks early and cannot provide guidance that would help with the development of the drug in terms not only of safety and proving efficacy, but also with the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the drug's development."

Another loophole that can put your health in serious jeopardy is that drug companies are not required to include adverse events on the drug's label if the adverse reaction is:
•Below a certain percentage, and/or
•Below double the rate of the adverse event found in a placebo

According to Kavanagh:

"By this rule, certain serious and potentially lethal adverse events that eventually resulted in a drug being withdrawn from the market would not have had any mention of the adverse events made in the labeling at all."

Kavanagh also claims to have discovered another common loophole used by pharmaceutical companies to circumvent safety issues. They'd simply submit bits and pieces of data to different places, effectively preventing the reviewer to pull it all together. Then, because the safety issues falsely appeared to be negligible, it would be decided that no further evaluation would be necessary...

"On one occasion, the company even told me they were going to call upper management to get a clear requirement for approval that they did not want to fulfill eliminated, which I then saw happen. On another occasion a company clearly stated in a meeting that they had "paid for an approval," Kavanagh says.

"Sometimes we were literally instructed to only read a 100-150 page summary and to accept drug company claims without examining the actual data, which on multiple occasions I found directly contradicted the summary document. Other times I was ordered not to review certain sections of the submission, but invariably that's where the safety issues would be. This could only occur if FDA management was told about issues in the submission before it had even been reviewed.

In addition, management would overload us with huge amounts of material that could not possibly be read by a given deadline and would withhold assistance. When you are able to dig in, if you found issues that would make you turn down a drug, you could be pressured to reverse your decision or the review would then be handed off to someone who would simply copy and paste whatever claims the company made in the summary document."

Examples of Dangerous Drug Approvals

In his interview, Kavanagh discusses some of the dangerous drugs that were approved in the face of unequivocal safety concerns. One is the nerve gas drug pyridostigmine—a prophylactic drug against the nerve agent Soman. The drug was approved under the "Animal Rule," which allows drugs to be approved based on animal data alone. There were multiple problems with this approval. First, the animal studies did not reflect how the drug would be used in humans. Second, the drug actually increases lethality if nerve agents other than Soman are used.

According to Kavanagh:

"This information was not secret - both FDA and DoD public documents acknowledge increased lethality with other nerve agents such as Sarin, and DoD and other government documents that are public also document that Saddam Hussein was not using Soman and was instead using these other nerve agents exclusively.

Yet because I raised this as an objection, I was immediately replaced as the primary reviewer so that I could not document my concerns and so that pyridostigmine could be approved. It's since been proposed that if we ever face the prospect of nerve agents in the future, that this approval will be used as a justification to convince the President at that time to waive informed consent without presenting a full picture."

Pediatric drugs also end up posing unnecessary risks due to the FDA's failure to adequately review safety risks, and the many scientific loopholes employed by pharmaceutical companies. For example, the following flawed parameters are typically used in pediatric drug studies:
•Dosages are based on approved adult dosages, without regard for metabolic differences between a developing child's body and an adult
•Exposure studies oftentimes use overweight children, and include too few children to adequately evaluate risks
•No allowances are made for race, age, puberty, or actual weight

Dangers to pregnant women and their developing fetuses are also frequently ignored. All in all, the FDA appears to be engaged in a systematic hush-operation designed to give just about anything Big Pharma develops the green light. Essentially, dangerous drugs are given a rubber stamp of approval—the necessary go-ahead to make obscene profits while killing and injuring hundreds of thousands of people every year. It is, quite simply, inexcusable. The mainstream media has a lot to answer for as well, as their lack of reporting on these issues contributes to the problem by keeping a lid on reality.

According to Kavanagh:

"FDA's response to most expected risks is to deny them and wait until there is irrefutable evidence postmarketing, and then simply add a watered down warning in the labeling. In fact, when patients exhibit drug toxicity, it is usually attributed to an underlying condition which we know is likely to make the drug toxicity worse. This also allows the toxicity to be dismissed as being unrelated to the drug in any way.

Consequently, toxicities are only attributed to the drug when the evidence is irrefutable. Thus the majority of cases where there is a contributing factor are simply dismissed. When you do raise potential safety issues, the refrain that I heard repeatedly from upper management was‚"where are the dead bodies in the street?" Which I took to mean that we only do something if the press is making an issue of it."

FDA Safety Reviewers Made to Fear for Their Lives?

Kavanagh was not surprised to learn about the agency's retaliation against the five whistleblowers, giving several examples of how he was personally intimidated, to the point of fearing for his life, and the safety of his children!

"After FDA management learned I had gone to Congress about certain issues, I found my office had been entered and my computer physically tampered with," Kavanagh tells Rosenberg.

"... After I gave Representative Waxman's (D-CA) office a USB drive with evidence, FDA staff was admonished that it was prohibited to download information to USB drives. Then, after I openly reported irregularities in an antipsychotic drug review and FDA financial collusion with outsiders to Senator Grassley's office and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, I was threatened with prison if I should release trade secret information to Congress... [T]he Food Drug and Cosmetics Act explicitly allows communication of trade secrets by FDA employees to Congress, but since most people are unaware of this, FDA management can use the threat of jail for violation of the Trade Secrets Act, not only to discourage reviewers, but in my case they got Senator Grassley's staff to destroy the evidence I provided them.

The threats, however, can be much worse than prison. One manager threatened my children - who had just turned 4 and 7 years old - and in one large staff meeting, I was referred to as a 'saboteur.' Based on other things that happened and were said, I was afraid that I could be killed for talking to Congress and criminal investigators."

We Now Know What Domestic Surveillance of Whistleblowers Looks Like

The following video features attorney, Stephen Kohn, executive director of the National Whistleblowers Center and attorney for the FDA whistleblowers in the recently revealed FDA spy operation against them2.

"For the first time, we now have a glimpse into what domestic surveillance of whistleblowers looks like in this country with the modern technological developments," Kohn says. "The agency [sought] to destroy the reputation of these whistleblowers forever."

FDA Failures Place Health of Americans and Nation at Grave Risk

The FDA's mission statement reads as follows:

"The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation's food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. The FDA is also responsible for advancing the public health by helping to speed innovations that make medicines and foods more effective, safer, and more affordable; and helping the public get the accurate, science-based information they need to use medicines and foods to improve their health."

In 2007, a report bearing the revealing title "FDA Science and Mission at Risk" by the Subcommittee on Science and Technology3, detailed how the FDA cannot fulfill its stated mission because:
1.Its scientific base has eroded and its scientific organizational structure is weak
2.Its scientific workforce does not have sufficient capacity and capability, and
3.Its information technology (IT) infrastructure is inadequate

Furthermore, the report found that "the development of medical products based on "new science" cannot be adequately regulated by the FDA, and that the agency does not have the capacity to carry out risk assessment and analysis. Additionally, the agency's science agenda "lacks coherent structure and vision, as well as effective coordination and prioritization."

The fact that the FDA does not have its ducks in a row; has sorely misplaced its priorities; and is not working to fulfill its mission is clearly evidenced in the numerous cases where hundreds and sometimes thousands of complaints about dangerous drugs (like Vioxx and Avandia), vaccines (like Gardasil), and additives (like aspartame) are stubbornly ignored, while SWAT-style teams armed to the teeth are sent to raid supplement makers, whole food businesses, organic farmers, and raw dairies when oftentimes not a single incidence of harm can be attributed to their products.

According to the Science and Technology Subcommittee's report, the failures of the FDA is placing the health of Americans, and indeed the economic health of the entire nation, at grave risk:

"The FDA constitutes a critical component of our nation's healthcare delivery and public health system. The FDA, as much as any public or private sector institution in this country, touches the lives, health and wellbeing of all Americans and is integral to the nation's economy and its security.

The FDA's responsibilities for protecting the health of Americans are far-reaching. The FDA protects our nation's food supply through regulatory activities designed to cover 80 percent of the food consumed in this country. The FDA also regulates all drugs, human vaccines, and medical devices, and hence plays a critical role in ensuring the appropriate safety and efficacy of rapidly emerging medical products.

... The FDA is also central to the economic health of the nation, regulating approximately $1 trillion in consumer products or 25 cents of every consumer dollar expended in this country annually.. Thus, the nation is at risk if FDA science is at risk. The Subcommittee concluded that science at the FDA is in a precarious position: the Agency suffers from serious scientific deficiencies and is not positioned to meet current or emerging regulatory responsibilities."

Final Thoughts

One of the root causes for their utter abandonment of public safety is that the majority of the FDA's funding comes from the very companies that it is seeking to monitor and evaluate. The FDA has progressively morphed into a mere pawn and instrument of the drug industry, which has little to do with drug safety, and everything to do with maximizing profits.

As Dr. David Graham—another prominent FDA whistleblower who blew the lid on the Vioxx scandal—stated in a 2005 interview:

"As currently configured, the FDA is not able to adequately protect the American public. It's more interested in protecting the interests of industry. It views industry as its client, and the client is someone whose interest you represent. Unfortunately, that is the way the FDA is currently structured.

Within the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, about 80 percent of the resources are geared towards the approval of new drugs and 20 percent is for everything else. Drug safety is about 5 percent. The 'gorilla in the living room' is new drugs and approval. Congress has not only created that structure, they have also worsened that structure through the PDUFA, the Prescription Drug User Fee Act, by which drug companies pay money to the FDA so they will review and approve its drug."

The only real solution isn't minor changes to the existing structure, but a complete reform of the FDA. But until then, please, don't risk your money or your life on a paradigm designed to profit from your ill health. Instead, switch to natural methods that will allow your body to heal itself without the need for the deadly drugs being pushed on you by the drug companies and the FDA.

How it feels to have a stroke

"Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another."

The Drugging Of Our Children (Full Length)

"In the absence of any objective medical tests to determine who has ADD or ADHD, doctors rely in part on standardized assessments and the impressions of teachers and guardians while they leave little room for other causes or aggravating factors, such as diet, or environment. Hence, diagnosing a child or adolescent with ADD or ADHD is often the outcome, although no organic basis for either disease has yet to be clinically proven.

Psychiatrists may then prescribe psychotropic drugs for the children without first making it clear to parents that these medications can have severe side-effects including insomnia, loss of appetite, headaches, psychotic symptoms and even potentially fatal adverse reactions, such as cardiac arrhythmia.

And yet, despite these dangers, many school systems actually work with government agencies to force parents to drug their children, threatening those who refuse with the prospect of having their children taken from the home unless they cooperate."

And yet, despite these dangers, many school systems actually work with government agencies to force parents to drug their children, threatening those who refuse with the prospect of having their children taken from the home unless they cooperate."

My Mom was a physiological Psyhologist and she had a big heart. She was always helping people, preventing a suicide, raising funds for a student who needed an operation etc.

She had been requested by a student who had a young teenager to go see her son, in a mental ward. This kid, caused fires and liked to pit himself agaisnt the authorities: police, playing cat and mouse.

Anyway, they couldn't handle him, so they had him doped up in a mental ward to the point of almost non-functioning. The first time my mom saw him walking towards her, he was dragging one of his feet behind him, he was hunched over, head tilted to the side, barely able to make eye contact. My mom asked was this his normal state and they told her "No". They doped him up because they couldn't handle him. My mom demanded they reduce the drugs and eventually got him off of them. No one else wanted anything to do with him, so my Mom vouched for him and got him released under her supervision etc.

She got this kid to the point, that he stopped creating fires and got him back towards becoming a functioning member of society. He was actually brillant, very very smart and unfortunaely he was smarter than everyone else around him and my Mom, had to be 10 steps ahead of him, to be able to help him. Anyway, he eventually graduated from college with honors and no more problems with the law etc. The reason I share his story here is, my Mom told me, if she hadn't stepped in to help this kid, they would have continued to dope this poor kid for the rest of his and he would have been left in the mental institution totally non-functioning!!!! In correct way of using drugs on a person.

I myself, had health problems when I was a teenager and the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. They thought at one point: I was a giant dwarf????? They wanted to do exploratory surgery and cut me open from my gut to my chest: my mom refused. At one point they put me in the hospital for tests and over dosed me on the drugs and caused a seizure. We got the previous Doctor to stop by on his way out of town and he said, I had enough of this one compound in me (from all the cumulative drugs they had me on) to kill an elephant!!!! That night was not a happy night as my body went through it's reaction to the overdose.

Horror's go on in the medical field all the time unfortunately. The crime of corporations pushing their drugs for profit over the benefit of the patient. I always look for natural ways to deal with health issues and it has always been better than traditional medicine with it's side affects etc.

More and more, our rights are being taken away and they are trying to take away a child and parents right to not have vaccinations etc. It is crazy, when you look into it. One of the Kennedy clan in the government attended a meeting about vaccinations and he was appauled at what he saw. They, our congress men were disscussing how this one vaccination they were giving children was having harmful side affects and instead of looking out for the children, their concerns were about how to protect the drug company! They were in some way funded by the drug company with campaign donations or had been offered jobs working for them when they left their term in office etc. (the article was in Rolling Stones on-line magaizine).

We need to separate corporations from our government, unfortunately our founding fathers, never forsaw this problem. They had the right idea about separating church from state, we just need to address separating Corporations from our government.

I remember reading a book years ago about Nutrition the answer to Cancer and the author addressed the problem. She stated how some very powerful person got on the committee for cancer research funding in our government and only funded research that would create a drug (which this person would buy stock in that company). Any research on how food played a major role in prevention, didn't get any funding and was keep out of the public eye for decades. You can't make any money telling people you should eat your broccolli, at least can't make any drug from it.

It is so important to make sure our rights, freedoms etc. are not taken away.

Goldman Sach's got on the committee in our governemnt to look into deregulation of the housing market and were instrumental in helping deregualting it. We all see what a problem this caused and how it benefited their firm to the disregard of the US citizen's. Separation of Corporations and Government should be a priority, if we the people want to maintain our freedoms etc.

Just sharing.

Thanks Gabrieyle, great video. Makes one wonder what's the plan now that Egypt and Libya are now in the instability wake, just seemingly falling under the control of the Muslim Brotherhood. Not sure how that benefits Israel. But totally agreed on the neo-cons taking over Bush's term and the Republican party (and probably Dems now too through bankster run Wall St. and the Bernanked Fed), who are themselves part of or puppet-mastered by the elite cabal. Watching those debates between Gore and Bush and all the Limbaughed media back then we had no idea of the warmongering and the oil-invading to come set off by the staged explosives(placed like thieving shills in the dark of midnight) of the twin towers.

Dr. Sowell explains it all (again):

An Economic 'Plan'?

Former president Bill Clinton told the Democratic National Convention that Barack Obama has a plan to rescue the economy, and only the fact that the Republicans stood in his way has stopped him from getting the economy out of the doldrums.

From all this, and much else that is said in the media and on the campaign trail, you might think that the economy requires government intervention to revive and create jobs. It is Beltway dogma that the government has to "do something."

History tells a different story. For the first 150 years of this country's existence, the federal government felt no great need to "do something" when the economy turned down. Over that long span of time, the economic downturns were neither as deep nor as long lasting as they have been since the federal government decided that it had to "do something" in the wake of the stock market crash of 1929, which set a new precedent.

One of the last of the "do nothing" presidents was Warren G. Harding. In 1921, under President Harding, unemployment hit 11.7 percent -- higher than it has been under President Obama. Harding did nothing to get the economy stimulated.

Far from spending more money to try to "jump start" the economy, President Harding actually reduced government spending, as the tax revenues declined during the economic downturn.

This was not a matter of absent-mindedly neglecting the economy. President Harding deliberately rejected the urging of his own Secretary of Commerce, Herbert Hoover, to intervene.

The 11.7 percent unemployment rate in 1921 fell to 6.7 percent in 1922, and then to 2.4 percent in 1923. It is hard to think of any government intervention in the economy that produced such a sharp and swift reduction in unemployment as was produced by just staying out of the way and letting the economy rebound on its own.

Bill Clinton loudly proclaimed to the delegates to the Democratic National Convention that no president could have gotten us out of the recession in just one term.

But history shows that the economy rebounded out of a worse unemployment situation in just two years under Harding, who simply let the market revive on its own, as it had done before, time and time again for more than a century.

Something similar happened under Ronald Reagan. Unemployment peaked at 9.7 percent early in the Reagan administration. Like Harding and earlier presidents, Reagan did nothing, despite outraged outcries in the media.

The economy once again revived on its own. Three years later, unemployment was down to 7.2 percent -- and it kept on falling, as the country experienced twenty years of economic growth with low inflation and low unemployment.

The Obama party line is that all the bad things are due to what he inherited from Bush, and the few signs of recovery are due to Obama's policies beginning to pay off. But, if the economy has been rebounding on its own for more than 150 years, the question is why it has been so slow to recover under the Obama administration.

The endless proliferation of anti-business interventions by government, and the sight of more of the same coming over the horizon from Barack Obama's appointees in the federal bureaucracies, creates the one thing that has long stifled economic activity in countries around the world -- uncertainty about what the rules of the game are, and the unpredictability of how specifically those rules will continue to change in a hostile political environment.

Both history and contemporary data show that countries prosper more when there are stable and dependable rules, under which people can make investments without having to fear unpredictable new government interventions before these investments can pay off.

A great myth has grown up that President Franklin D. Roosevelt saved the American economy with his interventions during the Great Depression of the 1930s. But a 2004 economic study concluded that government interventions had prolonged the Great Depression by several years. Obama is repeating policies that failed under FDR.

Despite demands that Mitt Romney spell out his plan for reviving the economy, we can only hope that Governor Romney plans to stop the government from intervening in the economy and gumming up the works, so that the economy can recover on its own.

Who may tax and spend?
By: Walter Williams
9/12/2012 05:16 AM

Within the past decade, I’ve written columns titled “Deception 101,” “Stubborn Ignorance” and “Exploiting Public Ignorance,” all explaining which branch of the federal government has taxing and spending authority. So here it is again: The first clause of Article 1, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution, generally known as the “origination clause,” reads: “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.”

Constitutionally and by precedent, the House of Representatives has the exclusive prerogative to originate bills to appropriate money, as well as to raise revenues. The president is constitutionally permitted to propose tax and spending measures or veto them. Congress has the authority to ignore the president’s proposals and override his vetoes.

There is little intellectually challenging about the fact that the Constitution gave Congress ultimate taxing and spending authority. My question is this: How can academics, politicians, news media people and ordinary citizens continually make and get away with statements such as “Reagan’s budget deficits,” “Clinton’s budget surplus,” “Bush’s tax cuts” and “Obama’s spending binge”? I know that the nation’s law schools teach little about Framer intent, but I wonder whether they tell students that it’s the executive branch of government that holds taxing and spending authority. Maybe it’s simply incurable ignorance, willful deception, sloppy thinking or just plain stupidity. If there’s an explanation that I’ve missed, I’d surely like to hear it.

Seeing as a president cannot spend one dime that Congress does not first appropriate, what meaning can we attach to statements such as “under Barack Obama, government spending has increased 21 percent” and “under Barack Obama, welfare spending has increased 54 percent”? You ask, “Williams, are you saying Obama is without fault?” Let’s look at it.

Knowing which branch of government has the ultimate taxing and spending authority is vital. No matter how Obama’s presidency is viewed, if we buy into the notion that it’s he whose spending binge is crippling our nation through massive debt and deficits, we will naturally focus our attention on the White House. The fact of the matter is that Washington has been on a spending binge no matter who has occupied the White House. In 1970, federal spending was $926 billion. Today it’s $3.8 trillion. In inflation-adjusted dollars that’s about a 300 percent increase. Believing that presidents have taxing and spending powers leaves Congress less politically accountable for our deepening economic quagmire. Of course, if you’re a congressman, not being held accountable is what you want.

Let’s look at a minor case that demonstrates Congress’ appropriation powers. The California Navel Orange Commission is a government-sanctioned grower collusion that establishes production quotas so as to restrict supply in order to keep orange prices high. In 1980, the Federal Trade Commission was going to study such agriculture collusions, euphemistically called marketing orders, as a result of increasing criticism from economists, reformers in federal agencies, consumer groups and some orange growers. Big growers descended on Congress to protest the threat to their collusive behavior that an FTC study might create. Congress, as a part of its FTC appropriation, prohibited the agency from monitoring marketing orders. In November 1983, Congress started using a legislative rider to prohibit the Office of Management and Budget from spending any money to review marketing orders.

This example demonstrates that Congress has ultimate spending power and that when it suits favored interest groups, it will use it. Most members of our Republican-controlled House of Representatives say they’re against Obamacare. If they really were, they surely would attach a legislative rider or some other legislative device to the Department of Health and Human Services’ appropriation bill to ban spending any money on Obamacare; they have the power to. But they don’t have the political courage to do so, and their lives are made easier by the pretense that it’s the president controlling the spending. And we fall for it.

Very well said kbit.

Interesting that Congress seems to be the missing link in all of this. Also agree that talking heads saying this happened under this president or that president shows complete ignorance for the complexity of economic systems and the temporal nature of cause and effect.

In England they have area's that are EMF free because their are people that get negative health reactions to EMF's. That means no cell phones, no statelite TV, they have to have special paint on the outside of their homes to stop EMF cell phone tower radiation, they have to have special turn off electrial outlets stuff installed: so there isn't any emf emmissions in their sleeping area: which is when people are most vulnerable because during the night our bodies repair themselves.

When I was going through my healing of my basal cell phase, I got rid of my statelite TV and within 5-6 months, my immune system was stronger. I won't use a cell phone, no gps system in the car etc.

I have meet people in their early 20's that are suffering from weak immune systems and they are using twitter and using their cell phones constantly.

Just do a google search on EMF radiation and you will find sites dealing with the issue. Dr. Mercola had an interview with a Doctor on the cutting edge of diseases and he said, one of the things they do is remove all EMF radiation from their home, remove all mildew sources, remove all toxic chemicals and then they address diet, suppliments and then herbs and lastly medicine. If they don't address the environmental causes, the patient does not get better.

Go to Dr. Mercola website and sign up for his newsletter, you can then access past videos, which are on the cutting edge: search for EMF and up will come some very interesting interviews.

The US government has already proven its intent to see all evil, with the use of Orwellian programs like TrapWire. But it can now hear all evil too, as law enforcement agencies implement a tool able to store, analyze and identify voices in seconds.

‘Voice Grid Nation’ is a system that uses advanced algorithms to match identities to voices. Brought to the US by Russia’s Speech Technology Center, it claims to be capable of allowing police, federal agencies and other law enforcement personnel to build up a huge database containing up to several million voices.

When authorities intercept a call they’ve deemed ‘hinky’, the recording is entered into the VoiceGrid program, which (probably) buzzes and whirrs and spits out a match. In five seconds, the program can scan through 10,000 voices, and it only needs 3 seconds for speech analysis.

All that, combined with 100 simultaneous searches and the storage capacity of 2 million samples, gives SpeechPro, as the company is known in the US, the right to claim a 90% success rate.

According to Slate.com’s Ryan Gallagher, who spoke with SpeechPro president Aleksey Khitrov, the software is already being used in many different countries and for ‘noble causes’ only – like in Mexico, where Voice Grid helped identify and apprehend kidnappers during a ransom call, thus saving their victim’s life.

Both the FBI and the NSA have expressed interest in the program, which is also expected to be used at 911 call centers and police precincts. And sample lists would, of course, contain ‘persons of interest’ – known criminals, terror suspects or people on a watch list.
Or would it?

The definition of ‘suspect’ has been known to be loosely interpreted by US law enforcement agencies in the past. What with the FBI branding people as ‘terrorist suspects’ for buying waterproof matches or flashlights, and the Department of Homeland Security urging hotel staff to notify authorities immediately if a person has tried to use cash and/or hung a ‘do not disturb’ sign on their door, it’s easy to see why many are spooked by the idea that not only can the government see you at all times, it can also hear you.

In fact, combined with the capabilities of TrapWire, this would give law enforcement agencies an unprecedented ability to effectively dismiss both the country’s founding documents and any notion of privacy you may have had.

An unsuspicious, law-abiding citizen would obviously have to read his private messages or broadcast his phone calls out loud to be considered above-board. If he's whispering into his handset, however, the DHS is relying on its “citizen spies” to pounce and denounce the poor guy.

So, law enforcement agencies now have TrapWire to ‘all the better to see you with’ and Voice Grid ‘all the better to hear you with’. That plus the Patriot Act is effectively turning America into the land of the-no-longer-free-and the very agencies that set out to protect their people and their land into the big bad wolf.

The Patriot Act is probably one of the most controversial pieces of legislature in American history, an acronym that, for all the old and new security bureaus, Provides Appropriate Tools Required (to) Intercept (and) Obstruct Terrorism. But the tools included in the bill weren’t – and still aren’t –considered appropriate by many. Wiretaps and electronic surveillance were legalized. Arrests were made on a daily basis. When the number of those detained reached 1,200, officials stopped counting. Personal records no longer remained personal – and that was only the domestic beginning.

Officially, 1,200 special interest detainees were held and investigated under the Patriot Act. The Justice Department examined more than 700 of them and none were ever linked to any terrorist group or plot.

Nevertheless, upon his resignation in 2004, former Attorney General John Ashcroft’s letter stated that “The objective of securing the safety of Americans from crime and terror has been achieved.” This should have meant the end of the Patriot Act, for it included a “sunset” provision, to expire in December 2005. Seven years later, it’s still in place and regularly being enforced…not necessarily for a war against terror.

Statistics show that the so-called sneak-and-peak, a search warrant that can be executed without prior warning, is mostly used for drug-related crimes. Between 2006 and 2009, 1,618 delayed-search warrants were issued for drugs, 122 for fraud – and only 15 for terrorism.

The National Defense Authorization Act allows the indefinite detention of anyone deemed a terror suspect – American citizen or not. And if you look at what makes a potential suspect, you can pretty much expect to be taken in every time you answer your phone.

So bottom line:you can be heard making a hotel reservation and then seen trying to pay cash, for example, or looking stressed at breakfast and then detained as a suspect under the NDAA whilst police comb through your files using a warning-less warrant.

But the good thing is: you’ll be totally safe.

(NaturalNews) The latest attack on free speech in America comes from the FDA and is supported by Google Adwords. NaturalNews has learned that the FDA is quietly, and without notice to affected companies, commanding Google to disable the full Adwords accounts of nutritional supplement companies offering "detox" or "chelation" nutritional products.

This secret war against nutritional supplement companies is being waged entirely outside the law, as the FDA gives no notice to affected companies and does not give them any opportunity to respond in their defense. No judge, no jury, no notice, no due process. The FDA simply bypasses legal notice requirements and goes straight to Google, which complies by disabling Adwords accounts, shutting off an important source of revenue for nutritional supplement companies.

An economic embargo ordered by the FDA and obeyed by Google Adwords

This action is just the latest round in the FDA's war on nutritional supplement companies, which have been subjected to armed raids, threatening warning letters, product seizures, and even international kidnapping by the FDA itself ( FDA dupes Interpol to achieve illegal kidnapping and deportation of herbal formulator Greg Caton).

In this case, the FDA is conducting an economic embargo on the company known as Global Healing Center ( Global Healing Center Health Products & Information), founded by Ed Group III. Dr. Group is not a medical doctor, but he is a globally-recognized formulator of nutritional detoxification products that really work to help eliminate heavy metals from the body.

Ed Group's company has been a long-time advertiser with Google Adwords, using the service to not only bring Google hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in revenue, but more importantly to help reach people with high-quality nutritional products that are revered throughout the industry for their safety, potency and efficacy.

None of this seemed to matter to Google Adwords, which shuttered his entire account without notice, then claimed the FDA told them to do so (see below).

"On June 29th we noticed our sales had dropped off about 25-30% over the previous week," Dr. Group told NaturalNews. "After some research we found it was due to Google blocking our AdWords account from advertising. We tried contacting Google to see why our account had been blocked, but it wasn't until July 27th (almost a month later) that we received the answer below."

He goes on to explain:

The FDA contacted Google and demanded Google shut down our ads containing our heavy metal cleansing keywords. Google then shut down our ENTIRE account including all other non-chemical and heavy cleansing related ads resulting in a loss of approximately $70,000 in sales over a period of 3-4 weeks. The FDA did not contact us directly nor did Google contact us to let us know before shutting down our account. It seems as if the FDA has started a gestapo campaign to attack supplement companies indirectly through Google advertising.

[This was] an intentional campaign by the FDA to take money from our pockets because we never even had a product on our site which mentions chelation and the FDA has never contacted us or issued a warning to us as they are required to do by law. The FDA inspects our facility one to two times each year and have never mentioned any concern to us.

The letter from Google

Here's how Google Adwords finally responded to Global Healing Center, approximately one month after shutting of their Adwords account:

From: adwords-support@google.com
Subject: RE: Phone Call Follow-up

Hi,

I just heard back from the review team and the information that they provided me with is as follows:

* Currently your website is advertising for and selling Dr. Group's Chemical & Heavy Metal Cleanse as a Chelation agent. The FDA considers non-perscrition chelation products to be unnapproved drugs because they are "dangerously misleading" and can cause serious harm to consumers.

* See https://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm229320.h... for more information.

Moving forward, once you have removed this product from your website feel free to call me to have your site re-reviewed. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Have a great day!

Best,
Spencer L

Google Inc. - The Google AdWords Team - 1-866-2-GOOGLE - adwords.google.com

Analysis

• The FDA letter cited by Google Adwords does not even mention Global Healing Center. (Huh?)

• The FDA letter is from 2010. Why is Google Adwords shutting down companies in 2012 while citing a letter from 2010 that doesn't even mention the advertiser?

• The FDA's position that heavy metals chelation products are "unapproved" drugs is absurd. A description that a nutritional product binds with heavy metals is not, by any reasonable logic, a claim to "treat a disease." It's nutritional cause and effect. By the FDA's own admitted logic, a company selling vitamin C cannot claim that vitamin C halts scurvy. That would be an "unapproved drug claim."

Interestingly, NaturalNews agrees with the FDA that there are some fraudulent nutritional products being sold in the market -- in fact, NaturalNews helped expose one of the most outlandish such "detox" products ever marketed on the internet ( NaturalNews issues consumer alert about Adya Clarity, imported as battery acid and sold for internal consumption). That product was very high in aluminum and sulfuric acid. It was marketed as a dietary supplement to be consumed with "daily shots" (shot-glass drinks) and it was claimed the product would cause heavy metals to come out of your ears and fingernails, or that large snakes would be emitted out of your colon. (Seriously, I'm not making this up.) That product was clearly fraud.

But the FDA makes no distinction between fraudulent supplements and legitimate, high-quality supplements. To the FDA, all supplements making a detox claim are unapproved drugs and therefore illegal. Such a position grossly demonstrates the FDA's complete lack of nutritional supplement discernment.

Meanwhile, the FDA openly tolerates repeated and willful violations of pharmaceutical off-label marketing, which is the prescribing of medications for health conditions that have never been approved by the FDA. All the major drug companies engage in the (wink-and-nod) off-label marketing of their drugs, and the FDA does absolutely nothing about it. ( Big Pharma criminality no longer a conspiracy theory: Bribery, fraud, price fixing now a matter of public record) Thus, the FDA's position, as stated in this letter, that "companies that market products that claim to prevent, diagnose, treat or cure diseases must file an application with the FDA and provide data that demonstrate their products' safety and effectiveness" is flatly false.

In reality, pharmaceutical companies merely need to receive FDA approval of their drug for any disease, and then they are allowed to market that drug for ALL diseases and health conditions! ( Dangerous "Off-Label" Prescribing Illegally Marketed By Drug Companies) It's not legal, but it's tolerated if you run a multi-billion-dollar pharmaceutical company, which is where the FDA derives the bulk of its own operating budget revenue.

Google supporting the FDA is, in many ways, worse than Google supporting China

What's most disturbing in all this is not that the FDA is engaged in economic warfare against the nutritional supplements industry -- that's to be expected of a criminal government regulatory mafia group. What's really disturbing here is that Google Adwords went right along with it.

I can only hope that this is some sort of temporary oversight on the part of some low-level Google Adwords employees who are easily intimidated by the FDA. While none of us wish to see Google Adwords used to promote truly dangerous products, you have to wonder why Adwords is perfectly willing to promoting deadly pharmaceuticals and prescription medications that have been scientifically shown to kill 106,000 Americans each year ( Why doctors are more dangerous than guns - new Health Ranger investigation video) -- yet at the same time, Google Adwords won't allow the advertising of a nutritional product that can help people eliminate toxic mercury or other heavy metals.

Google, it seems, is increasingly allying itself with the FDA, an organization that can be reasonably and convincingly shown to be a criminal group whose primary purpose is to protect the Big Pharma monopolistic profit racket, even at the expense of destroying public health. (A diseased population, even better, boosts pharma profits.)

If this trend continues, Google will only harm the credibility of its own advertising, because it won't take long for internet users to realize that Adwords ads shown on Google.com are censored to comply with corrupt government guidelines. Adwords is, in other words, being directed by the U.S. government to limit consumer choice rather than expand it. This seems to contradict the very purpose of Google's search engine, which is to put knowledge and information within reach of people everywhere. But what if that knowledge threatens the profits of the pharmaceutical industry? Will Google censor its information offerings in order to help the FDA protect drug industry profits?

China-style censorship is now FDA-style censorship

If all this censorship talk rings a bell, it's because Google was at one time caught up in the question of whether search results should be censored in China in order to keep the Chinese people ignorant of issues like freedom, public protests, democracy and the like.

For many years, Google went along with the Chinese government's censorship requests. "Until March 2010, Google adhered to the Internet censorship policies of China," reports Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_in_the_People%27s_Re...).

But on January 12 of 2010, Google announced, in response to a hack attempt on Google's servers in an effort to access information about Chinese dissidents, "...we are no longer willing to continue censoring our results on Google.cn"

And yet, Google is willing to censor its results on Google.com right at home in the USA, as long as the FDA tells them to, it seems.

The FDA's attempts to keep the American population ignorant of nutritional supplements perfectly mirrors Communist China's attempts to keep its population ignorant of history. If Google isn't willing to go along with China's censorship, why is it willing to go along with the FDA's?

We must encourage Google to rethink its compliance with corrupt governments

I hope all NaturalNews readers will join me in encouraging Google to rethink its policies of automatically adhering to FDA demands. If the FDA were really an honest organization working on behalf of the People to protect the health and safety of the American public, it might not be such a bad thing to listen to the agency's requests.

But the FDA is no such thing. The FDA threatens and surveils its own scientists, for one thing ( FDA caught spying on its own scientists to muzzle whistleblowers). In fact, the FDA hacked the Gmail accounts of suspected whistleblowers, thereby violating Google's own terms of use (https://www.naturalnews.com/034824_FDA_scientists_hacking_whistleblowe...).

The FDA openly allows the electroshock torture of autistic students in the USA ( FDA looks the other way while school uses electroshock torture on autistic students), behaving a lot like China and its own secret torture prisons. Maybe that's why U.S. Senators have been trying to overhaul the corrupt agency and force it to reform ( Breaking news: US Senator Rand Paul offers surprise amendment to rein in FDA abuses, disarm the FDA, decriminalize free speech).

Above all, if Google chooses to ally itself with the FDA, it will irreversibly contradict its longtime motto: "Do no evil." Because when it comes to evil, you can't get more dark, diseased and destructive than the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which directly contributes to the mass death of one million Americans each decade ( FDA accused of mass homicide of one million Americans each decade).

Google complies with FDA demands to secretly disable Adwords accounts of nutritional detox companies

The US Justice Department has wiretapped the phones of more Americans in the last two years than the entire decade before it, and federal surveillance targeting the Internet usage of US civilians has surged wildly, new FOIA documents reveal.

The American Civil Liberties Union published documents late Wednesday that they received from the Justice Department in response to a Freedom of Information Act request the organization filed earlier this year. According to the papers, certain phone-tapping procedures have increased by 60 percent between 2009 and 2011, and the surveillance of email and other Internet data has been authorized in court by an increase of 361 percent during the same span.

The ACLU asked the Justice Department back in January to supply them with records regarding the annual statistics reports on the use of pen register and trap and trace devices, two methods of surveillance that can target information sent to and from phones, computers and other electronic devices. Now with proof in their hands, the ACLU can conclude again that the government had ramped up its secret surveillance of Americans with concrete evidence from the District Attorney’s office that shows rampant spy programs are targeting more and more US citizens.

Pen register and trap and trade devices, the ACLU acknowledges, are “powerfully invasive surveillance tools” that at one point consisted of physical, hard equipment that attaches to phone lines to intercept communication. Today’s technology allows surveillance to be conducted without attaching actual devices in the same manner, allowing the capturing of correspondence to be that much easier.

The devices are used to capture outgoing and incoming data pertaining to specifics communication, but do not include the actual contents of the discussion. It does, however, mean that any federal agency granted permission to place a pen register or trap and trace device can still see the “to” and “from” fields of email messages sent and received, as well as the time, date, length and numbers involved in phone conversations and records about IP addresses accessed by web browsers and basic instant messaging identification.

“Because these surveillance powers are not used to capture telephone conversations or the bodies of emails, they are classified as ‘non-content’ surveillance tools, as opposed to tools that collect ‘content,’ like wiretaps,” Naomi Gilens of the ACLU’s Speech, Privacy and Technology Project explains.

“This means that the legal standard that law enforcement agencies must meet before using pen registers is lower than it is for wiretaps and other content-collecting technology.”
“Americans have a strong interest in understanding how frequently and under what circumstances their communications are the targets of pen registers and trap and trace devices.

The people we communicate with through the telephone and Internet and the web pages we choose to visit can reveal a great deal about us, including the identities of our close friends and associates and what topics interest us when we engage in private sessions of reading and research,” the ACLU wrote when they filed their FOIA request earlier this year (.pdf). “It is important to Americans' privacy and their ability to feel secure when availing themselves of new communications technologies that they understand the degree to which these technologies are subject to government surveillance.”

In a post published on the ACLU’s website this week, Gilens adds that the only paperwork necessary to tap phones and emails using the technology is a judge’s signature on a certificate that says that investigators believe the information may be relevant to a criminal probe.

“As long as it completes this simple procedural requirement, the government may proceed with pen register or trap and trace surveillance, without any judge considering the merits of the request,” Gilens adds.

In 1995, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit sharply critiques the ease in which these requests can be granted, ruling, “The judicial role in approving use of trap and trace devices is ministerial in nature.”

According to the just-released info, 37,616 pen registers and trap and trace devices were authorized to target the phone calls of Americans in 2011 alone. Barely 5,000 orders were signed in the year 2000.

The plaintiffs that are suing US President Barack Obama over his insistence on keeping the National Defense Authorization Act on the books said Thursday that they fear Americans are already being held indefinitely and without trial under the NDAA.

US President Barack Obama refrained from even once commenting on his efforts to keep his power to indefinitely detain Americans without charge when he appeared on Reddit.com recently and urged users to “Ask Me Anything.” His opponents in the matter aren’t shying away from speaking up online, though.

The plaintiffs in the case to ban the White House from imprisoning Americans indefinitely without trial or due justice took to Reddit on Thursday to answer questions involving the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2012, or the NDAA, and blamed corrupt media and a broken governmental establishment for letting the Obama administration maintain its to book Americans in military prisons without charge.

On December 31, 2011, President Obama authorized the NDAA, and with it he approved a controversial provision that permits the government to indefinitely detain US citizens without trial for mere allegations of ties to suspected terrorists. Journalists and activists filed a lawsuit against the president earlier this year over the provision, Section 1021, which US Federal Judge Katherine Forrest in turn agreed was unconstitutional.

Last month Judge Forrest decided that an earlier, temporary injunction on the clause should be made permanent, but the Obama Justice Department pleaded for an emergency stay only hours later. A lone federal appeals judge has since heard that plea and has momentarily blocked Judge Forrest’s injunction. Now pending the results of an appeals panel’s formal investigation, the NDAA’s indefinite detention provision remains on the books.

On Thursday, the plaintiffs in the case — journalist Chris Hedges, activist Tangerine Bolan, Pentagon Papers leaker Dan Ellsberg, their attorneys and others — told users of Reddit to ask them anything.

“The Obama DOJ has vigorously opposed these efforts, and immediately appealed her ruling and requested an emergency stay on the injunction – claiming the US would incur ‘irreparable harm’ if the president lost the power to use Section 1021 – and detain anyone, anywhere until the end of hostilities on a whim. This case will probably make its way to the Supreme Court,” the plaintiffs acknowledged in their introduction.

From there, President Obama’s opponents in federal court combed through hundreds of posts to answer questions regarding the NDAA over the course of several hours. And although the plaintiffs have not exactly been silent with the status of their fight since suing the White House earlier this year, the insight they offered on Reddit provided a fresh update on the case against the NDAA amid some of the government’s most unusual legal maneuvers yet.

Offering his take on the case, Hedges said that he even believes the NDAA’s indefinite detention clause is already being used to imprison Americans, “because they filed an emergency appeal.”

“If the Obama administration simply appealed it, as we expected, it would have raised this red flag,” Hedges added. “But since they were so aggressive it means that once Judge Forrest declared the law invalid, if they were using it, as we expect, they could be held in contempt of court.

This was quite disturbing, for it means, I suspect, that US citizens, probably dual nationals, are being held in military detention facilities almost certainly overseas and maybe at home.”
“The signing statement is the most ridiculous part to this for me. He writes this statement saying he's not happy about the power existing, but then his administration fights so hard to keep that specific power in place,” Reddit user devilrobotjesus responded.

“If Obama didn't want it to happen, he would not have signed it, especially after stating that he would veto it,” co-counsel Carl Mayer explained. Mayer has represented the plaintiffs in the case of Hedges v. Obama and said that he plans on continuing his pursuit to take indefinite detention off the books.
“We will do whatever it takes,” Mayers added. “We are prepared for a Supreme Court battle.”

Activist and journalist Tangerine Bolan is also insistent on prevailing over the Obama administration, but says “The biggest obstruction to our winning this case . . . is our broken systems.” Bolan blames a lack of media coverage, insufficient public awareness “and the government behaving very badly, even in court, on the record,” for the difficulties the plaintiffs have had to endure, adding that the Obama administration’s constant missteps have been noticed by no one except “seven plaintiffs, four attorneys, one federal judge and the activists who have been following this case.”
“Amazing,” she added.

Journalist Chris Hedges extrapolated on Bolan’s opinion, singling out “a corporate-owned system of information” for not informing Americans that they can be imprisoned without trial at this very moment.

“MSNBC, which is a propaganda arm of the Democratic establishment, just as Fox is a propaganda arm of the Republican establishment, is not going to raise this as Obama is as guilty as Romney. If we had a healthy press this would have gotten more coverage, although the print media, and in particular my old paper the NY Times, finally did good coverage,” Hedges wrote.

Daniel Ellsberg, the former Defense Department employee who achieved notoriety a generation earlier by leaking what became known as the Pentagon Papers, agreed that the system is severely in fault in this instance.
“Virtually every public institution has failed us gravely. Not only the executive, but the courts, congress, most of the media and most of the churches,” Ellsberg wrote on Reddit. “Radical reform is needed, even to the point of non-violent revolution. “

Elsewhere, the panel touched on why they believe the Obama administration is so adamantly fighting to keep the NDAA legal.
“It is quite possible that the NDAA is . . . a way to get Julian Assange and WikiLeaks,” Bolan claimed. “While the USG has tried to paint us as irrational, delusional and ridiculous, you see the slippery slope here.”

On his part, Hedges said that emails hacked by Anonymous and released by Wikileaks show that the US government has attempted to "tie a legitimate dissident group to terrorism and strip them of their right of dissent,” to which Bolan follows up with an explanation that supports the ramped up attempts from the White House to persecute whistleblowers and leakers under President Obama

“Yes, of course, if [Assange] is an enemy of the state, then yes, [The New York Times] could be considered to have communicated with the enemy. And perhaps the NDAA is a way to finally nail him,” Bolan said.

A three-judge appeals panel is expected to soon weigh in on the stay placed on Judge Forrest’s injunction, in the meantime keeping Section 1021 and the rest of the NDAA applicable to every American.

Thanks to a question by @Pepe2000 which got me curious. I recalled seeing a nice correlation study available on the ThinkOrSwim platform. Correlation ? Resource Center

Then I tried lining it up under a /CL chart for the past 20 years. Interesting outlay where it's noticed that /NQ and /6E started around the same year; /NQ late 2003, /6E, Euro at beginning of 2004. (Leading up to 2nd term of the "Bush" years & post 911) And correlation % of /CL with the /ES and /NQ dropped off big time just this past summer close before the election , after being steady at a high correlation % the past few ("Obama") years. Hmm, the "globalists" at work?

And another chart of /ES in correlation comparison with the other futures. Recent significant rise in positive correlation with gold, /GC after being negative within this year. Happened also in the 2007 election year. And in reverse in the 2000 election year.

I was just talking with my trading buddy the other day and he told me, expect the markets to go down after the Presidential Election. He said it happens every 4 years. They rally it up to the election and then it falls. He reminded me, he is still expecting the Dow to go down to 6K at some point. At that time, he is going in and buying big time and will hold them and probably leave them to his children eventually in his will.
So, if there are any stocks or anything, you want to own for the long haul, be ready when we do eventually get that sell off, my trading buddy is expecting.
I don't know, if the Dow will get down to 6K this down turn but I will be agile and if we start descending, will put on some shorts.

Watched this video by some guy trying to sell his newsletter and he said: the government is working with China to conspire agaisnt us. They are going to devalue the dollar to pay off China. Every dollar we get from selling US bonds: 50% goes towards interest. It really is a loosing battle, that is why the Fed is printing money. It will eventually lead to hyper inflation and devalued currency, so best to have some silver, gold on the sideline etc. And for those of us, who know how to short, we can make some money on the downturn, just make sure to have things in place, in case we go into marital law, to weather the storm etc. When one has to decide, if they are going to pay their rent or buy food?
He said, the 2 major things that can cause the storm are:
1. oil is no longer bought in US dollars and already China is buying from Russia in their Yuan currency but they are talking internationally of changing out of the US dollar and finding another way to purchasing Oil etc, as we devalue the US dollar.
2. When they begin raising interest rates, so we have some time to get ready and prepare and try and become as self sufficient as possible.
3. (What I have heard before, when you can trade the Chinese Currency: Yuan like you can other currencies.) This was not related to this article.

They are one vote away from taking away people's right to own guns and they have been training police etc how to handle riots.
America has been very good at posponing but some day we may have to pay for our Governments, mishandling of our financial future, for generations.

I heard on Bloomberg, this guy who handles Billions of dollars for the elite rich and he said, their plan was to buy up the foreclosed homes and make them into rental properities. In the future, it will be too hard to purchase a home and no one will have the down payment, so they are going to make us a rental society unto infinity. '
My trading buddy made a lot of money trading and now he just bought his first foreclosed Triplex and is making a profit, with these very low interest rates, it is really easy for those that have the funds.
The only problem is the government will have to come up with a way of making money, so if you are fortunate to own a home etc., they will raise taxes you pay on owning a home.
If you have a rental, they will pass that on to the renter, if they can.

Already in this country, when young people get out of college, they move back in with their parents.
Young people are living 4-5 people in rentals, to make it work.
Just imagine when hyper inflation hits or they change us over to a new currency: AmeroDollar.
Let's say you have 100K, well in the new currency maybe it is only worth 10K, one last way of stealing your wealth. So, have some gold and silver available. The Government might do a recall on coins but I think jewelry will be safe?
I have some long standing rich clients that are still purchasing gold chains from me, just to diversify.
I have a friend from Italy and he said, when they went out of the lira into the Euro dollar, it was very hard on the Itilian people for some years after they change because that is exactly what they went through. All of a sudden what they had was diminished and it was very difficult transition.

Hopefully, America can avert this outcome, we have been very creative but I listened to a Noble Peace Prize winner in economics, about 6 years back. At the time, he said America was getting past the point of no return. Well I think we have past that point. The only thing the Fed can do, is print money, it won't create jobs, but it will make it easier to pay off China.

I would have posted the link to the video but it came via an email, which by accident I deleted, so I covered the main points.

Needless to say, I am hoping that future doesn't manifest and we can get our financial house in order. Keeping my fingers crossed but will be prepared for whatever outcome?

Thanks for you and your friend's fine observations Rachel. I completely agree about the housing market. Most of these reduced-price good and relatively newly constructed houses for sale are bought by those who are already investing in 2nd homes or just rental properties. No real effective housing demand because the prices and mortgages are still out of reach for most at their current income level. And the decent wages don't seem to be ever coming back. China's average wages are finally gradually becoming less globally competitive but the big money (with their record profits) will just move on to exploit other emerging areas such as South America or parts of Africa or more inland provinces of China. And the other public sector side is increasingly duping the population into some sort of eventual totalitarian "you didn't build that" socialism based on some inflationary and increasingly worthless fiat money. I hope it's not the end, but unfortunately it looks like it's already here. In the news, it's beginning to show people everywhere are starting to lose it, and probably will get worse and more frequent until the full blown crisis and attempted revolution.

Most of these reduced price houses for sale are bought by those who are already investing in 2nd homes or just rental properties. And the decent wages don't seem to be ever coming back. China's average wages are finally gradually becoming less globally competitive but the big money (with their record profits) will just move on to exploit other emerging areas such as South America or parts of Africa.

In my mind that's why this election is significant....if obama gets re-elected that pretty much tells me that the majority want big government(socialism). If romney gets in I'll still have a little bit of hope for the future but as I'm sure you agree in the long run we'll end up in the same place.

All this police state stuff and more and more rules and regulations, and of course obamacare which opens the door to regulate any behavior ultimately will continue to box us in.
With Romney the path is likely pretty much the same but on a slower timeline.

A financial /economic crash seems to be a certainty and it will not only cripple us financially but will serve as an excuse to take yet more of our rights and freedoms.

I'll stop here...I think we're on the same page....

I'm pretty much on board with this but just wanted to say a couple things....on the paying back china thing, if things got really ugly we could just tell the chinese to go fly a kite and stiff em....just saying.

On the gun thing I think your probably referring to that U.N. thing getting kicked around...on that one I wish them good luck, There is no freaking way gun owners are going to roll over and hand over their guns. Being one of them I think I can safely say that.

It may not be a crash/revolution, rather a long slow decay as China emerges as the world's largest economy. Already it has the largest government on the planet, though not the (socialist) type big government, they are fascists. Originally the ruling party were communist however in the past 20 years it has transformed into the greatest state of fascism the world have ever seen.

China is in a very good position. They loaned the US treasury trillions. The fed, via the banks that own it, directed that money back to China as the globalist corporations invested trillions into to the greatest economic expansion the world has ever seen. The Mitts and elitist corporations of the world made themselves grossly rich by moving their business operations to a country where even using the word 'rights' will see you put away, permanently. There is no rule of law, only facists and their twisted lies.

China is debt free. The ruling class control a billion slaves and a few hundred million middle class. They are looking at a nice 7% annual growth rate to look forward to for the next decade. And the RMB isn't even convertible yet. The country has strict controls on all foreign exchange. My first year living there, over a decade ago, people were not even allowed to take a vacation without being part of a group with special permits and a government chaperone to travel with them. Times have certainly changed though it is still not easy to get your money out of China. With more millionaires than some countries have citizens and the majority of them desperate to get out of the mess, the flood gates are about to open. Fascism is about to go global.

Romney and the globalists like to talk about the benefits of free trade. All we ever seem to hear is what Bill and Betty middle class can understand, the minimum wage. We here about 'competition' and convergence and the need to be more competitve. What makes the globalists' China operations more competitve, however, runs deeper than just the wage for labour. Unfortunately it get's a little complicated for most people to understand that the result of 'rights arbitrage' is a convergence of the factors of competition which include thing like human rights, it goes right into the socio-economic paradigm. It's ironic that the greatest bureaucracy the world has ever known, (big government), is so incredibly competitve. It's amazing what corporate collectivism can achieve when a total police state is attained and rights do not exist, yes, it is good to be elite in the new world order.

My view is that once the RMB becomes fully convertible and the money starts flowing out of China there's going to be a massive land grab. US real estate is going to be a great place to be, Faber is right about that. Remember at the height of the Japanese economic boom when people were freaking out because the Japanese were buying up entire Hawaian Islands, stuff like that. Well that just aint nothing compared to what is going to happen. During the financial crisis the Russians approached the Chinese to dump treasuries and bankrupt the US. Thankfully they did not. But what happens if they become a new reserve currency country, which they likely will. Will emerging africa really want to hold dollars?

America has already been sold out by it's corporate leaders. The NWO is taking over. And it aint Socialism. We are going full on global fascism, big brother style. The system that was America was designed to work when the people were competing with one another on a level playing field, ie in terms of rights, rule of law etc. Something changed though when the globalists saw how much they could make selling out to China. You may as well vote for some food stamps and some health care while you can.......

As this information thread has been growing exponentially my wish was always to keep the informaiton consistent and from the various sources.

And as ever my BIG THANKS!! for all the contributors!!

This book link that i have posted not too long ago, i will post yet again, and most likely again and again!!

By far the most informative book on the currency of our country, and its hijacking by the private central banking system!! (The Federal Reserve System AKA The National Reserve Association)

I urge you, the visitor of this thread, to please read this book!

U.S. Money Vs. Corporation Currency, "Aldrich Plan.": Wall Street ... - Alfred Owen Crozier - Google Books

I will be looking forward to ANY journalist to be asking ANY prior or the current sitting president of the corporation known as the US,
why does the US have a debt based private banking currency system aka Federal Reserve Notes;
as oppose to the government based debt-free currency system aka United States Notes ? ?

the RED SEAL (US Notes) VS the GREEN SEAL (FR Notes)
the difference between US Notes and FR Notes.
One says "Payable to the bearer" and the other says "Legal Tender for Debt".
One is a measure of wealth and the other is a symbol of debt.
