I agree with Royalflush even having quite stable trading software I forced now to use stops, which sometimes makes losses where it could be avoided by just reversing.
I'm not programmer too
That's why I trying to tweak my internet connection as well much as possible in order to make it as fast as possible and also stable (however I'm using ADSL)
Software is one part of issue, another is hardware/internet.

Happy 2010 Year to everyone

About the stops, I hope in your trading you don't always reverse instead of just closing positions, it could generate big loses, that is why you need to have a defined trading plan, and you need to have concrete evidence that it is a reversal & not just a correction or pullback.

Anyway, it seems that the new MarketDelta version 10.01 b10 (check their support videos) has replicated all the Nanotrader ChartTrader Active DOM features, & even has improved on it, therefore Ninja is becoming more & more obsolete, unless... Ninja 7 catches up to this platform,

good traging

I maybe one of the luck ones using “NT” I never have had a crash only lost connection errors a few times. I do run about 7 charts with 5days data on two screens using a laptop with XP, AMD 3700 and only 2gigs of ram.

What I’m most concerned about is the speed of the trades themselves which has led me to finding a platform that claims to be one of the fastest futures platforms on the market today “Photon Trader”. I believe Linda Raschke “Market Wizard” is now using this platform and she says it has the best ease of use and the best customer support.
I like to get some feedback on this platform if anyone has tried it out yet and if we can develop indicators to use with it.

I couldn't find it on their website or googling: do you know how much Photon costs? I like the look of their volume profile charts etc and that the latest issue is automatically updated every time you log on. And that business about .25 secs for order entry versus 2-5 seconds is of course a very important aspect. Thxs for heads up.

A couple of years back, it was $200 a month. Don't know what it is now. Photon Trader , I believe, is part of Futurepath trading, so you might want to take a look at their website. Home - Futurepath Trading

The website for Photon Trader is http://www.photontrader.com/default.aspx

I would really like any feedback on this platform as it looks very promising from what I have seen on their website it has the feel of “NT” but to a much higher degree. Maybe it would give us all an edge in the pro arena.

I think cclsys was looking for the price of Photon trader, not the website.

NT is fine if you only run a few charts, and don't set them to long lookback periods. The problem with the software is that that UI is all running in a single thread, so having multiple charts open with long lookback periods will quickly slow your computer down under heavy conditions, even with a fast CPU. One reasonable solution is to set up multiple virtual machines and run a copy of NT in each of them, if you have a quad-core CPU. I have long term trading charts set up in one VM, another set of medium term charts in another, and my trading copy set up with very few charts open. It seems to run OK on the fastest processor you can get right now, but you really need to have good hardware. NT support is spotty at best, you will normally get cookie-cutter responses from their support team, and mostly if you have a problem it's up to you to fix it. On the other hand, it's pretty cheap for a lifetime license, so what do you expect... NT 7 is supposed to be better, but we'll have to wait and see on that one.

One can get used to the bugs of NT and treat them as well. One must invest a lot of time to
To find solutions.
I do not like at all is that you can run NT on a single computer. I think at least 2 computers
(should) be with the same IP price.
