perhaps NT would accept a contribution from some its more ardent fans, thus making it fully supported in a future version? talk about community-love! why wouldn't they want to incorporate that into their ecosystem?

cheers,
-e

I think a better question to ask is when did NT ever consider request from user? Their response is always we will put it into consideration or it is on our futures to do list. Anyone who does customer support (especially true in IT) knows the language mean we have no plan for it.

Anyone, I am done with NT for good. I've to thanks TMFT for created me the trade button to make NT good, but after taken the time to learn to use SierraChart (read all their doc and test all their options), I am not going back to NT.

As a discretionary trader, I find SC light years ahead of NT. The only downsize is the big learning curve. It does take me many attempts to appreciate the function of SC.

Yea , well... don't look for any Sierra Chart Buttons... (Just messing with ya... )

I have complained for a while about the Connection Lost issue I was having with NT .05 and ZenFire. When I was downloading NT .06, I noticed in the "Fixes" was; Fixed Connection Lost with Zenfire...

I haven't had a lost connection since I downloaded NT .06...

I ask that no one tell @Fat Tails about this post since I'm not complaining about NT and him trying to wrap his brain around the concept of me not complaining about NT... well he does write ya'll a lot of indicators and I wouldn't want to be the cause of his head exploding....

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

two of their technical hires have been from within the community. i realize that is not the same as accepted community-initiatives. i shall remain optimistic. i still like the platform.

Might be true for some but not NinjaTrader. We receive a lot of enhancement requests daily. We catalog this and review it at various junctures in the product development process. NT7 has over 300 enhancements most driven by user provided feedback. Our current list is over 1,000 items deep.

I had some lengthy discussions with Dennis Globa last year about putting this type of list online and what it would mean for the companies reputation and productivity, and MultiCharts came through with a very nice project management software that allows users to publicly track all open bug reports and feature requests, including status of each, voting options, and more.

MultiCharts Project Management

I'd like to see NinjaTrader do the same. I made this request a few years ago on your forum

I find NT7 works quite well if you understand its limitations. You need to make sure you have right settings, connection , and adequate PC and you will avoid most issues.

I run an auto trade strategy that is coded correctly which is also important. Some coders write bad code which will cause a mess. I very seldom have any problems that are NT7 related but I also no where not to try and push the system.

Of course things could always be improved and there are some things I wish they would add or change. That is true for any software as they all have quirks. But NT 7 was a vast improvement over NT6.5 . Key is to find software that works for your style of trading and that you your style allows you to work around it's limitations.

"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."

Agreed. I may gripe about bugs here and there which are annoying. But the strength of the product to me is the customizations I can do with C# to personally support my trading. Even though 90% of that customization is outside the realm of supportability by NT support, that is ok with me. There is no other product out there that could customize my trading to the extent that NT can.

Next thing NT needs to do is add some additional functionality and features to what originally put them on the map, their ATM functionality. It has been too long without any new features added there. I would personally like to see c# programmable share/contract size, and unlimited target and stop steps instead of being limited to 3. And how about re-architecting so that strategies can share charts with chart trader.

I agree with monpere. I too would like to see unlimited target and stop steps to advance the ATM usefulness. I am a simple trader using simple, almost boring techniques but the limitations of three targets only do bother me. That said, I have been a Ninja Trader client since they were about I believe, six months old in the market and, the occasional bug aside, NT has helped me all these years without an insurmountable amount of pain, The most advance race cars, formula 1, do crash and brake when pushed to the limits but they still are works of engineering art preforming over the edge tasks on the race track. I, for one, am grateful to have NT available to do my simple and boring trading.

I am also grateful to all you, geniuses, and I mean it, who are never totally happy and who, through your pushing forward, coming with new ideas and complaining, help make this Formula 1 platform I trade with better all the time.
And thanks to Big Mike for providing this forum to make it possible.

Keep it up gals and guys, brooom, brooom..

First of all, the two bugs that I had identified have been addressed with the release NT

7.0.1000.5. When I wrote my first post, I was not aware that a new overload had been added, which solves the problem.

Secondly that overload can also be used outside of OnBarUpdate() and works fine as tested.

Nobody is perfect, so I do not mind to post it here.

I will gradually replace all Session indicators in the download section. This includes CurrentOHL, SessionPivots, VWAP, RollingPivots, VolatilityBands, NoiseBands and OpeningRange indicators. The new versions V32 will use the new signature of GetNextBeginEnd(), so they will not run on all prior versions of NinjaTrader. You will need to install NT 7.0.1000.5.

The update is only necessary, if you use the indicator on shorter period tick, range, volume or Renko charts (charts built from ticks). The problem is caused by tick built bars, which have the same time stamp as the session open.

Thanks again to Josh from NinjaTrader support, who helped me understand the changes that were made.

Hello,

Will you change the PIVOT DAYLY ZONEZ V31 or it works on NT7, because I've downloaded it on the 7.06 and I'm having trouble with freezing issues, and talking with Nnja people they told me that I might having problems with the indicators.

Thanks a lot for all you work,
Tontruk

The PivotZones indicator does not have a bug, it should not create any freezing. NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.6 has a small bug, which can prevent the correct download of daily data by the PivotZones indicator, but this bug does not cause any freezes.

If you are experiencing freezing issues it is probably not related to the PivotZones indicator.

Please make sure that you use all indicators in CalcOnBarClose = true mode, and that you do not set your display update interval to a smaller value than 200 msec. Also check all indicators that you put on your chart.

Yes, I did all that by NT support sugestion, and changed to the interval from 0.5 sec to 1sec, but I think is too much, but don't know if this could interveer on the freezing.

do you think that 1 sec is too much?

Thanks for your answer.
