...Using the 1 tick range, how many months/years of tick data are you backtesting on now with 7 ?

I currently just go back to 01/01/2010

...This machine has 3.2 Gig of usable RAM next time I run a backtest I will check the physical usage of NT and report back. Wouldn't it just start using the swap space if it was running low...

I don't think so. This is a Windows limitation. On 32 bit windows the addressable memory size is limited, and if more is needed by a single application the swap file does not help.

Well said Timefreedom.

I've done my share of ragging on Ninjatrader but every now and then NJ Support shows that they're trying their best.

Ninjatrader has helped tons of traders including me.

@BigMike,

Hey, when someone comes here and openly bashes NT, then refuses help that is offered from the CEO of the company, do any further comments from that person on this topic remain relevant? I've had issues with Microsoft Visual Studio, but never had Bill Gates offer to help me resolve them. It's great when someone has a problem, can post it here, and then get help in finding a solution. It's ridiculous and demeaning when someone comes here to complain about Ninja, is then offered help, declines the request, and continues to complain.

I had a pretty good support experience with NT recently. I am trying to setup the single stock futures of the SPY etf (SPYM1C) with Interactive Brokers, and keep getting errors. I opened an issue with NT support, and the analyst was very responsive, schedule a time to call me on the phone and connect remotely to my machine to diagnose the problem. Is that normal for NT support, or was that an anomaly?

Anyway, he could not fix the problem, so I still have the issue, but I think the phone and remote access contact was unprecedented for me with NT support.

By the way, if anyone knows how to setup a single stock future on NT with Interactive Brokers, I'm all ears.

I want to try and setup the SSF for the SPY etf with Interactive Brokers. Currently the current contract in TWS shows as SPY1CM1

The communication module, between NinjaTrader and IB, doesn't seems to send the Multiplier (for AAPL, as an example, 1 SSF = 100 stocks), so TWS is not able to send back the information.
So it can't work.

This contract is completely illiquid, the last trade was over a week ago. The chart I pulled up within TWS is attached. I don't see your point here.

I've never traded single stock futures before, I just became aware of them, and wanted to see what they are about, and if they are worth looking at. The issue is not about what contract I want to look at, it is about NT's inability to use a legitimate market instrument, which I would assume other software vendors can use.
