Yes, over the weekend USA went to Daylight Savings Time. What would have been 8:00 A.M. CST on Friday is now 9:00 A.M. CDST .

DayLight Savings Time ends 6 November 2011 @ 2:00 A.M. Then time will revert back 1 hour.

I don't remember if XP would automatically change the time for you or not. In Vista and Win 7 it asks if you want it to automatically adjust your time.

I would think that has something to do with max computer time problem.

But then again... I'm a dinosaur ....

I have XP as well, it automatically changes. @max-td has the correct system time, but the historical data loaded from Zenfire has false time stamps. Last week the time difference between EST and CET was 6 hours, today it is only 5 hours. However, for whatever reason his NT7 installation converts historical data from Zenfire by using the old 6 hour difference from last week. 9:00 AM New York time becomes 3:00 PM CET, although it is only 2:00 PM CET here.

Then during one hour, the chart will not store real-time data, because it has already stored the historical data.

If I think about it, I have had one similar problem, when I changed my system time while NinjaTrader was running. But I guess that it was my fault to change system time without closing down NT first.

Hi Max,

Sorry i can't help but you have all my support, these kind of clueless issues between NT so called support team happened several times with endless ping pongs posts. It is really annoying that they threat everybody like no skills people, futures.io (formerly BMT) is full of such stories, ask Gomi. This is one of many reasons they are losing customers, I stopped asking them any issue, I saved time and my nervs, better ask on futures.io (formerly BMT), people here are more qualified and willing to help.

The few times I have gotten in a mess that I couldn't get answers to... I copied all my indicators to a seperate directory, uninstalled NT, deleted all the files left after uninstall, downloaded a new copy and copied my indicators and templates back over.

You shouldn't have to go to those lengths, but it did work.

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

No, they don't sucks. They are not perfect, they are not a match for everyone, but they don't definitely suck.
They have given my customers A+ service and for our auto execution for certain systems they have been awesome.

Wasn't there a Microsoft Patch for Time Zones released for XP a couple of years back?

I seem to recall that standard XP didn't have it quite right.

that guy i had yesterday sucks.

he wasnt able to ask relevant questions.
a competent support (A+ like you say it) knows pretty fast in wich direction the issue goes if he is able to ask the right Questions.

but NT-kyle definitly isnt able to do that. and its not the first time.

he didnt listen nor look to my information a gave him right at the beginning.

instead of listening to my problem and reading my posts he goes through his check-list and let me uninstall and re-install everything - one test after another - each took nearly an hour to get done with email feedback.

then he asks question a explained and informed him about in my first posting.

Thats sucks!
at the end he had to say that its my own problem, it my PCs that have issues.
he never did anything else the telling me deleting and reinstalling.
with every step he had to ask back to some developers - always took an hour for the next step

that sucks!

then he was able to tell me he can have another look at my settings.but it will be the next day - his office-time was over i guess
he will be back early tommorow - 10.30 EST earliest possible time - - lol -- folks thats 18 hours later - thats next days evening for me in europe here

just can say :
Thats really sucks !

to get this last information it took nearly 7 hours - even more.
and i have to say it again, he did not ask me for my settings, he only forces me to delete, reinstall + reload stuff. one time he asked me for a chart-screenie.

that sucks!
and is not even a D- in my eyes.

that worse than an oldschool telecom-wire support.

Ninjatrader makes a lot of deals with brokers and with commercial vendors. If you are getting into retail trading futures it might look like there's only 1 way, and that's ninjatrader. They made their business model around the brokers. That's their edge. And they give it for free if you don't trade live, last numbers are 30.000 people use ninjatrader, I bet there's only 10% or so using ninjatrader live.

They forget 1 thing: It's not the brokers who are trading with ninjatrader, but it's the traders, once they get fed up with the mess ninjatrader is making others like sierracharts will take the market. No matter how high brokers scream how good ninjatrader is.

About the problem: I have installed my pc clock to USA time and I only had to restart ninjatrader on monday and that fixed the problem. There are numerous problems for us European traders with the time zones differences, that's why I decided to run it on USA time.

I would advise to delete ninjatrader completely, install your pc to windows USA time (Chicago time?) and re-install ninjatrader from scratch (thus making a new NT database)

the core of working support are competent folks there.

there are some at NT for shure.

but what i had yesterday that was the oposite.
thats a matter of quality for me.
and bad quality strikes back in a company.

this is a statement and a report of my experience with NT-support now.
and it is like this however the technical story will end.

we can foward discuss the topic + experiences here.
i am not willing to be quite on this only because i find my technical solution.

iE i would be willing to pay for a livechat per minute or so -
a whatever kind of emergency - support if i really can get competent help there.

to my problem i open a new thread right now - will not mix it up with this here .

a friend helped me later yesterday, he asked 3 intelligent questions and we found the direction of the issue.
its not working yet and i dont know how to fix it, but i know where its comming from - we will see.

Generally speaking you are correct, problem is that they use the same persons for general and technical support; they should filter questions and direct them according to the sender's experience and level of the request. Under my experience with NT and point of view, an issue should be solved within few hours but this is the time it takes them (if you are lucky) before they understand your question, for a day trader this is not acceptable. Also, they do not listen to any kind of suggestion to improve the product.

Free market and competition will likely and hopefully change things.
