Cory's VolumeStopV3 (and now V4) - Worth A Look!

It seems 40 or so people have downloaded this but I have not found much of a discussion around it.. From what I have seen today, this does a real nice job of identifying turning points based on volume (something I have always been interested in but never found an indicator I felt comfortable with).

Like any indicator there are some false or lets say "weaker" signals than others, but on the whole in my view this is worth taking a look at.

Very impressive Cory!

HJay, any difference between the diamonds and the arrows? Is one a stronger signal than the other?

Great work Cory.

Are the s/r lines and the background colors the only difference between version 2 and 3 ?

Thank you.

diamond is a less than perfect rule but it is still worth a look. triangle is strictly text book rule. yes v3 is the same as v2 with s/r levels.

re : diamonds and triangles
Explanation from code -

3 bars -volume slope up but price slope down with the last white candle
DrawTriangleUp - Stop Low - Color.Blue

3 bars - vol slope down and price slope down with the last white candle
DrawDiamond - Stop Low2 - Color.Blue

++++++++++++++++++++

3 bars -volume slope up and price slope up with the last black candle
DrawTriangleDown - Stop High - Color.Red

3 bars - vol slope down but price slope up with the last black candle
DrawDiamond - Stop High2" - Color.Red

Excellent work Cory. Can you tell me what time frames does the indicator work best....Tick charts, Range bars, Min Bars.... I tried on tick charts, but signals were not as great. Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
-Keep

as general rule the more volume (longer time frame) the better it works. try 7 range chart for ES I don't know how that translate into other time frame for other contract thought. Note the S/R dot won't plot ahead of the range bar.

Cory,

Can you please talk about your trading strategy using this indicator. I just loaded it up onto a 4 range chart and it looks really good. I would like to learn more about how you trade this.

Thanks,
Jason
