Thanks but that wasn't my greatest concern. If I have the indicator wait until bar close will the signal be more reliable? I notice that it gives good signals on 30 min charts but some bars are very large so False is definitely the prefered setting if the pre-close signals are reliable. I trade off of 5 min ES charts but I wonder if it might be advisable to compliment my charts with 2 point range chart? It appears that a lot of false signals are generated on 5 min charts.

I dont sync range chart with time chart since they are created by diff method. Yes you can wait until close but try to anticipate 5 sec before close what should it be. If you try multiple TFs try 60m, 15m, and 5m.

To Cory or anyone who employs this interesting tool,

How do you make money from it?

Thank you.

Julie, i like your question. It's direct and simple. If each time we see a new indicator people would ask this very simple question, no one would be creating indicators anymore. But i'll give you a direct answer: you can't make money with this indicator alone no more than if you'd flip a coin when you get a signal.

Thanks, So, what other things go into the mix with this that make money?

Julie,

now you've probably found an indicator which probably could fit your personality to probably claim to have almost found your needed tool box.... but if it's your "first contact" with the "technical" side you will still have a long way to go only on this track section.

You should to head off the other 95% of your tool box, which will be most probably money- and riskmanagement and a lot.... a very lot of experience about the market(?) -NO-, yourself!

Plan about 10,000 hours for this task and to pay dearly... I wish you a lot of practical wisdom on your journey.

Best regards,

I find that the signals which I get on the 5 tick range chart for the ES to be very good. I've also noticed when I see a gravestone doji or dragonfly or even a similar reversal candle with a small body accompanied with high volume it makes an excellent signal. I wonder if you would consider creating a audio signal for high volume bars which would aleviate the necessity of watching the chart constantly.

how high is high volume? is it higher than prev vol? is it higher than some MA of vol? higher than some percentage of some vol? How small is small? zero tick, 1 tick , 2 ticks?

For me all these questions are irrelevant because you have already chosen the parameters which color the volume bars dark orange. All that I am suggesting is to have the indicator modified so that when a volume bar is colored dark orange an audio file is also played.
