I like volume stop a lot. I use it mostly for signalling entries on pullbacks. Thanks again Cory.

Hi Cory

do you have the zip file for volumestop for NT7.
the reason is i tried to edit then recompile the .CS file through strategy and NT7 keeps crashing.
IF you could export this file or if someone else could would be really apreciated.
Thanks

well 2,000 downloads and I got 2 guys saying they are using it, not bad. So maybe volume is not your thing you want price action, momentum only. To mark this 2,000 dl occation I wrote momstop indicator that base on nothing but prices, enjoy.

Just a word of thanks. I trade from a 5 min chart and am finding your VolStop to be a very useful additional confirmation of support/ resistance and probable direction. Much appreciated.

Hi Cory,

I am just testing your volumestop indicator version 3, I like it a lot. Actually I combine it with fib lines and my own better volume indicator, see chart.

I have one observation. On the chart below the indicator identifies two contradicting levels. If I look at the volume, I find that the first one has high volume (=significant pattern), whereas the second one has relatively low volume (insignificant pattern).

I took a long trade, as the stronger volume pattern was confirmed by the fib line and volume analysis from the 5 min chart (volume expansion followed by churning). Also this is a Butterfly pattern with a huge potential upside, but we may also see a sort of smaller butterfly going below yesterday's low.

You could add a filter to your indicator, to filter out lower volume events. But even without such a filter, the indicator was easy to read.

Thanks again for sharing the indicator, will get you more feedback.

Cory, your indicator just crashed my NT 7.0 and also yesterday my NT 6.5.

This is not your fault, but it is a bad implementation of the DrawText and DrawDiamond methods by NinjaTrader. For my chart I need 45 days back, because of the fib lines, and having your indicator on a 1 min chart crashes NT.

Actually the problem does not occur, when you put the indicator on, but when you put it off, change the period or close the chart. I have already discussed this with NT developpers about a year ago.

To avoid this problem, I have added a lookback period to a similar indicator, which makes sure that only a limited number of draw objects are put onto the chart. It would be nice if this could be set via indicator panel.

Of course, I can do the changes myself, but also want to give you some feedback on the indicator. You can easily test this behavior.

I can't tell how low is lower volumes it all depends on what day, what time you look at it but it's def something a trader should pay attention to.

my charts all have 5 days max or less otherwise they take too long to load, thanks for checking it out.
