CRITICAL NOTICE: PLEASE READ AS THIS MAY IMPACT YOU
Dear NinjaTrader User:
We will be releasing NinjaTrader Version 7.0.1000.3 Beta within the next several days to address the following items.
We anticipate that Microsoft will be releasing Windows 7 Service Pack 1 into production later this month. NinjaTrader Version 7.0.1000.3 Beta or greater is required to be compatible with this Windows update. All prior versions of NinjaTrader including 7.0.1000.2 or earlier and NinjaTrader 6.5 will be incompatible with this Windows update.
We have improved the ability for our 3rd party indicator and strategy developer partners to protect their intellectual property (IP) and thus any users who currently have installed commercial 3rd party add-ons are impacted by this update.
If you are using Windows 7 or are using commercial 3rd party add-ons it is critical that you read the remainder of this notice.
Windows 7 sp1 ? Auch, does that means that windows will run 20% slower after updating ? I hope not. Microsoft hopefully learnd their lesson with Vista.
I also wonder what would make a service pack update on windows break a windows program completely ? I think there is more to it and they are using the windows sp1 as an excuse.
I do agree and I am also thinking to move to MC, I am discovering their free demo since one week, so far so good. I will have to rewrite or ask futures.io (formerly BMT) for some Indies but it's ok for me.

I will do live trading as soon as I have discovered all the features, the only problem is that the free demo is limited on easylanguage and automated strategies therefore I will have to check on futures.io (formerly BMT). IMO the life license is affordable and worth it, I just want to make sure it's the right choice compared to other plaftforms.
Live trading
I know FT on MC MC MC thread reported on live trading
SP1 will not break NT7, it is incompatible with the Remotesoft Protector that is integrated in NT. Because the developer of Protector doesn't seem to care about his customers and is impossible to contact, NT had to change to CliSecure. This is what is causing the problem.

Yesterday night my computer noticed me for a windows update, I did the update purposely to check if there was a compatibility problem with NT as indicated by their announcement. The result was an istantaneous crash of NT each time I tried to reload it until I had to reset windows to its previous installation. My version of NT is the latest 7.0.1000.2 at the moment the 7.0.1000.3 has not yet been released. Although I am running Vista and not Windows 7 there seem to be problems between NT and Windows updates.

The release of W7 SP1 is due for Feb 22nd (unless additional delays), frankly I don't know what the update had to do with the crash of NT, fact are that I didn't change any settings and coincidently NT crashed after the update and the announcement release.
These are my pending updates that I removed in post # 7 , sorry they are in italian so you will have to refer to (). Should anyone update Vista and run NT without problems please report here.
Did Windows Vista update again as per post #10, NT running fine without any problems. I have no clues (settings are the same as yesterday and my computer is trading dedicated)

it seems to me Big Mike is right that Ninja is not supporting what they said they would support. that is a lack of integrity and not the way to do business. why doesnt Ninja just make 6.5 compatible with CliSecure????Duhh???
it seems to me that that is the answer and everybody can get back to normal life!!!
now, I have to run XP on a virtual machine as guest while running 6.5 inside and running windows 7 as host the guest OS and running Ninja 7. so I have 2 instances run at once. This takes up more resources, but that is the only way I can do it.
jeez, I wish somebody would make up a ninjatrader type program based on java. all the server side stuff programming at the CME is java
