Will pay you , If You Code This Idea For Me . . . .
Shall be in running mode from [StartTime] to [EndTime] ;
on a 3-Min ES chart using SMA 14 & EMA 5 ;
enters Long [XY] contracts when the SMA 14 & EMA 5 lines cross where the EMA 5 line (prior to the cross) was below the SMA 14 line and exists all positions when either profit [P] is reached or stoploss [S] is reached ;
enters Short [XY] contracts when the SMA 14 & EMA 5 lines cross where the EMA 5 line (prior to the cross) was above the SMA 14 line and exists all positions when either profit [P] is reached or stoploss [S] is reached ;
Shall not enter into another trade if an existing one is already in progress ;
Shall exist all positions if a trade is still in progress when there are [t] seconds left before reaching the [EndTime] .
So in summary, these are the variables I should be able to set: [StartTime], [EndTime], [XY], [P], [S], and [t].
{attached here is a screen-shot of the idea:
(purple_line is EMA 5 and yellow-orange_line is SMA 14)
}
Please tell me how much you will charge me ?
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy Espana
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
"sharky" & "traderwerks" , both of you are right, to a certain point ...... But like "cory" said, if this idea is 99% rate, that is, it is 99% accurate, then I don't see a problem . Of course, I can't assume that, and that's why I will be back-testing this, if I and/or someone helps me code this idea ; once again, I am willing to pay, so tell me what you guys will charge me .
In my experience, moving average cross strategies simply dont work. There are many reasons why but basically you tend to get whipsawed too much and the indicators lag too much.
Anyway, I quickly coded up a static strategy (i.e. no parameters for optimization) for you just so you can see this in action. You can backtest it against an ES 3 min chart and see what I mean.
I have tried all sorts of optimisations around this basic theme in the past and you really need something more sophisticated.
