One thing i'd like to have in NT7 is a tick ruler maybe they could add it to the Fibonacci tool. When you draw using the Fib tool i would find it interesting to see the total number of ticks we have between the 0% and 100% level. I always need to calculate it by hand or in my head (which is tough at my age ).

I would change NT 7 by firing all of the programmers, and replacing them with competent ones. Their first responsibilities would be to clear all of the bugs out of the code, and then address the lack of user friendliness and thoughtless chart and indicator interfaces.

We could go from there.

/Sticking with 6.5 for as long as possible

Two main things for me:

1. A master window w/ sub-charts in each window. That way you can line up multiple windows without skewing horizontal viewing.

2. Add a 'scale out' button to the DOM/Chart Trader. You can set this in options to buy/bid, sell/ask, buy/ask, sell/bid, or market and a number to scale out.

I love Ninja. But hey, I am so far an unprofitable trader but I put another 3K+ into TradeStation which to me feels like dealing with the 'dark side'.

I was shot down FAST, no one wanted to pay more, and in fact I learned that the vast majority pay ZERO.

Mike

They didn't want to pay more ... but they did want more and better features ... and unlimited support... and free custom programming...

Welcome to the internet where many feel they shouldn't have to pay for anything ... but then again I still pay for music I download so that just shows what a dinosaur I am...

I'm old and it's time for my nap so I'll stop ranting before my blood pressure goes back up and Nurse Ratchet has a cow...

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

I would rather change they project managers & manager's. Get more investors outside company which gives more presure to current management.

If you just change programmers same show continue.

When you consider that, notwithstanding whatever revenues they receive from the brokers for those "free" customers, ......
I am just pulling some numbers out of my rear here, but lets say 90% of NT's revenues are generated by brokers. .....
Mike

Hi Mike, love the site, read a lot, but don't have much that's novel to post. This caught my eye though. Do you have a thread reference or other information regarding fees that NT receives from brokers. I was not aware of this business model. I understood it to by user and programmer (black box system sellers) driven. Is broker kickback a significant part of NT's revenue? Is it the same for MC?

No, I have no idea. It was just a gut feeling like I said.

I know from personal experience when I was battling NT on a daily basis on their forum, always running into bugs and problems -- before I started this forum -- that I had tried to propose they offer a higher level of service or product to clients willing to pay more. No one liked the idea, and I learned at that time that it seemed most customers on their forum don't pay for the product at all, they get it free or use the free version. Just an observation. No hard fact or science.

Anyway, I've since moved on. And NT has since released NT7.

Mike

Is everyone happy with the new way of x-y scaling, hold the f*k*n*g CTRL key down to fix the scale, - WHY do I have to touch the damn keyboard and use 2 hands to do something ??? There are many other instances of where keyboard input is required when a select list for the mouse would be better, but the ability to pan the screen is my most pet peeve.
(I was spoiled by eSignal - Oh how I miss it)!
Yes I use the free version, but I would not pay for this product with all the short-comings I think it has.
They have some real competition with eSig and TradeStation.

Why did you switch from eSignal?

Hi Mike,
I was working more long hours and trading very little, and the cost at the time was not justified. I will someday go back to it, or Tradestation (altho they dumped me when they became Tradestation Securities - not Omega), or some other platform.
Mike, many thanks for this site.
Ken.
