Question 001:

How do we apply more than one session template to a chart ?

The only way i found to apply a session template is through the Data series dialog window which contains only one field to specify the session template we want to use. What about if i'd like to use the RTH and ETH on the same chart ? Or any other custom template ?

you can create your own template.

go to tools, session manager and make your own template. then under data series you can click on your new self made session template.

But if i proceed as you wrote how can an indicator differentiate between the RTH and ETH periods ?

Ex. if i'd like to show the opening range at 4:30PM-5:30PM and 09:30AM-10:30AM ? If i put everything in the same template then my indicator won't be able to tell there is a beginning session that starts at 09:30AM each day.

that's something you need to tell the indicator. at least that's what I understand.

Question 002

When we define a session template does it matter if we define the End time the same as the Start time for the next day ?

Ex.

Should we use this format (see red values):

Monday Start time 06:00PM Tuesday End time 09:30AM
Tuesday Start time 09:30AM Tuesday End time 04:15PM

Or this format :

Monday Start time 06:00PM Tuesday End time 09:29AM
Tuesday Start time 09:30AM Tuesday End time 04:15PM

I would say your 1st example, end time 09:30AM and start time 09:30AM. because that's what the default settings are as well, end time 12:00AM and start time 12:00AM.

Does anybody know if there is a difference between NT65 and NT7 in terms of quantity of intraday data we can retrieve from Ninja's servers if we use Zen-Fire as our main data provider ?

Is it possible that NT65 imposes some limitation to the quantity of data we can retrieve as opposed to NT7 considering Zen-Fire as being the data provider ?

A session template selects the periods, for which data is displayed. You can create several subsessions. For each subsession, the last bar will be cut off at the session end time.

There can only be one session template per data series.

If you display several data series on a chart, it is possible to use different session templates. The chart below shows an ES 30 min data series ETH and a 15 min data series RTH on the same chart. NinjaTrader does not allow to display two ES 30 min data series (ETH and RTH).

If you want to use an indicator with RTH data but display ETH bars, you need an indicator that has been coded to allow for these options.
