You need to copy your alert sound file to the directory -> Programs -> NinjaTrader 7 -> sounds.

Then enter the name of your sound file and the alert leadtime via indicator dialogue.


Need this bar timer with alert to work for Renko bars

I opened the indicator window but there is no place to ENTER THE NAME of the sound , the lead time ??

where do I have to input it ? I wish I can give you a screen shoot but it

The indicator shown on your screenshot is not the one I have posted.

The indicator I have posted is called anaBarTimer (the zip file is BarTimer though).

Please install via File -> Utilities -> Import NinjaScript.

A bar timer should work on not just time based, but also tick and volume based charts. I already have one like that.

I will put it in the Elite downloads section. It combines the code from the bar timer, volume counter, and tick counter. After detecting the type of chart programmatically, it decides whether to count time, ticks, or volume.

Why would anyone want to have ONE indicator that works on any chart when you can have three separate ones to clutter everything up with? DUH....

Another suggestion is to have the indicator actually SAY something instead of making a meaningless sound. Something like "CL 12-10 300 tick chart has just completed a bar". Would anyone be interested in something like that?

@Zondor,

I can't seem to be able to locate the "multi-bar-type" timer you mentioned in this post. Looks like an awesome and useful indy for confluency "trader" like myself. Thank you kindly.

I have updated the bar timer in the download section.

Download: BarTimer with Audio Alert
Exported using NT Version 7.0.1000.25 This is a simple bar timer for minute charts with an added audio alert. Copy your favourite sound file into the directory -> programs -> NinjaTrader 7 -> sounds. Now enter the name of that sound file and …

There was a small bug discovered by @George, also see link here:




The bug is now removed. I have also added an option to select the font size for the remaining bar time.
