If I understand this situation with NT correctly then any upgrade from an existing version even to try out the latest version on demo would result in losing the previous version (?)

Are there any recommendations on how to revert back to a previous version ?


In light of the many issues not just with the latest v8.1.1x but with previous upgrades since NT 6.5 is seems unlikely many would want to upgrade to the latest version for some time.

This begs the question, in my opinion, why NT aren't providing the facility to revert back to an older version if having upgraded to the latest.

I have not tried their latest v8.1.1x. installer. Given the problems poping up on their site, i prefer to wait.

Older versions of the software remain available for all clients. In order to revert to a previous release, please follow the steps below:
  • Shutdown NinjaTrader
  • Navigate to the Windows Control Panel
  • Select "Uninstall a program"
  • Locate NinjaTrader and right click and select "Uninstall"
  • Next, navigate to the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard to locate and download the previous version you desire
  • Once the download has been completed please run the installer to complete
Once the installer is completed, you will be running the previous version of NinjaTrader. All of your database files will remain as well.

Followed your instructions. None of the charts will load. Tried to make a new workspace, same thing. Connections are green. Please advise. What a mess.

I deleted the old workspace and made a new one. Now the charts are loading. Seems okay.

There's posts on this in their forum. Can anyone tell me what this actually affects? Looks like they've acknowledged it as something that's broken but my data seems like it's still live

I begin trading during the London session, it seems to be most noticeable overnight, for example by 9:30ish EST it seemed to correct itself

They will all show up in when I download and install the "previous version" ?

Perhaps that's what you mean by "All of your database files will remain as well." (?)

I wont want to have to reinstall/compile and set up all of that again with a new install.

Correct.

As long as you do not manually modify the NinjaTrader documents folder the new install should not affect any settings/workspaces/scripts etc.

FYI When I could not log into the web page (but could get to my charts) I was instructed to load the most current version of Chrome and that worked like a charm. Hmmmmmm
Ray thanks for your answered and assistance along the way. Any of those that leave will not really be missed.

I still haven't heard back from NinjaTrader regarding this Order Flow Indicator problem after 3 requests for help. Perhaps its a rare problem and they don't know the solution. Updated members in my Discord group are not having this problem. My 8.1.1.1 installation was a clean install so we can't blame Add-ons. I have a fast 6-core/12-thread computer with 64gb of RAM. I use an ethernet cable.

Another problem has surfaced this week. Twice I had NT8 lock up with both Live and Rithmic still connected. Internet connection was fine, the Tool Bar Clock showed the correct time, disconnecting and connecting did not solve the problem. I had to restart NT8 to get back on my charts.

Which brings up the third problem. Previously, I could shut down NT8, count to 10 and restart it. Now I have to do a complete computer restart which takes more time. Maybe I need to count to 30 with 8.1.1.1.

I think I will revert to 8.0.27.1.


NT8 Add Order Flow Functionality

Is VWAP and order flow now paid feature/upsell? I got the same message on my NinjaTrader. It is free on Tradovate.
