Hello. My NT8 lags horribly on charts. Everything starts and operates great for a few minutes, then it begins to lag. As you move the crosshair around, it "jitters". When you click on something, there is a second delay. Driving me crazy. I have tried a lot of the suggestions from NT forums, but doesn't seem to help. Restarting helps for a few minutes. It gets really bad if I don't restart everyday. Here are my specs attached
. Thanks

Nothing wrong with that spec. Have you tried checking your indicators and ensuring the section setup is set to calculate on bar close or price change under each indicator? That's usually the issue.

Look at Task Manager to see if anything is wrong.

What other programs are running?

If you are downloading ticks that slows everything down a lot.

Restart NT nightly.

Reboot the PC on weekends.

Just throwing this out there because of the date (and I saw this as a problem elsewhere)…are you using Sept exp contracts?

I have had a similar problem with my NT8. Clearing the cache and temp files every weekend seems to help.
Hope this helps.

You need to delete Cache at least once a week an make sure you don’t have any programs running other than NT. I run a quick security scan before I load NT every day. Make sure you close charts you are not actually using

I have recently had the same problem and my issue was that I didn't have enough disk space and had too many charts and workspaces open at once.

I doubt it whether it is your internet speed.

I also found swapping the crosshair over to an arrow as the curser helped also.

There is nothing wrong with your computer specs.

Run through the list that Phantomtrader provided and check it off as it was great.

I will be taking a screen shot of his list and do some maintence myself.

You can get the fastest computer made and it won't make a difference. There is a 250msec lag that the computer engineers gave up on trying to fix. MT5 doesn't have this lag.

I measure a constant 20-30ms lag on data timestamps coming through and execution varies between 30-120

I agree with Phantomtrader about having a dedicated computer. I would NEVER use a browser on my trading computer, never check emails, etc. ONLY FOR TRADING.

Your CPU (i7 4th generation) is EIGHT YEARS OLD. Eight years, just sayin....

When I started trading two years ago, I had an 8 year old CPU with 16 gb RAM. I thought it was decent enough, should be OK, but then noticed lag. I was advised by a very experienced trader to get an upgraded computer. Got an i7 10th generation 10700K. 64gb RAM, Nvidia GPU with 4gb. Samsung SSD M.2 directly on motherboard. No problems since the upgrade. And my internet is not great.

Now Intel is on 12th generation CPU.

I also had a similar problem 3 weeks ago. Older computer. NT8 was running fine, then started to lag and freeze. After many re-installs on the old and a new computer. Safe mode tests, etc. - Still had the issue. I ended up re-installing the previous version of NT8 and all is good again. Never really found the actual issue. If all else fails maybe revert back one version. Good Luck

Go to Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db and Find the file NinjaTrader.sdf. Rename the file to
NinjaTrader.old.sdf then restart NT8. A new file will be produced automatically.
The .sdf file can get crammed with stuff and corrupted which causes all sorts of trouble.

If that does not work, contact Ninja platform support.
