It's not just NJ8. If you look at the DOM you'll see the prices traded. There have been times when I'm trading NQ and the difference between the chart and the DOM is 50 handles. The faster the trading the less able the chart is able to calculate and keep up. Keep you eye on the DOM. This business ain't easy!!

The way I avoid that lagging situation is to have one main desktop computer for charting only and a laptop with minimal charting for placing my orders. Hope that helps

I had 16 points in MES trade nearing the close. The chart showed 16pt, but the PnL marker showed I had a profit of $2.50. So, I flattened everything. I lost over 10 points! How do you all deal with the lag? I have a 6 core i-7 with an ssd, 16gb ram an Nvidea 1050ti with 2gb ram. I had several charts up but only one instrument with different timeframes and indicators.

Hmmm, something sounds off here. Based on your hardware description you should have more than enough computational capability for the workspace you outlined.

Can you share which trading platform you are using? Also, when was the last time you shut down and restarted your machine? Finally, is this issue fairly common for you or intermittent?

I have had a similar experience with my combo of software (Multicharts) and broker (FXCM) the first time. I thought I had a profit because the software said so but I didn?t know at the time that the cost of trading wasn?t factored in as it was for the other broker (Oanda). On the flip side, Multicharts has a feature that tells you if you have any lag(s) caused by your computer.

I have had a love/hate relationship with NT8. Since I had purchased a lifetime license, I felt I had to find a solution to the lagging problem. So, here is my take.
First, yes, there is a big problem with lagging within NT8 and the frustration is real. However, after years of looking into the problem, I can tell you the problem is NOT with NT8 itself. The problem is with third-party indicators.
Unfortunately, I can see that NinjaTrader does not "qualify" third-party companies that provide indicators by making sure the indicators are properly programmed. If they did, maybe this problem wouldn't exist.
Some third-party companies are really, really bad about how they program their indicators. I could name names, but in this age of litigation, I wouldn't want to get myself in trouble. One simple thing to do to prove this to yourself is completely reinstalling Ninja and just use the built-in indicators. You will see no or very little lag.
I recommend you install the "ChartLagTimeV3" indicator and place it in a prominent place in one of your charts so you can monitor the lag. Just make sure you " sync" your time at least once a day so you don't get an inaccurate reading from the Chart Lag Time indicator. Also, always keep a DOM open. The DOM will always show the "true" price movement.
I hope this information helps.

I have had this issue mainly on NQ.. I'm doing an evaluation. Advice I was given is to make sure your clear cache daily, close any open workspaces apart from the one in use -

I had same issue with 4k monitors. Built a computer and found 4 - 4k monitors on sale. Fought lag until I found out NT doesn't support 4k monitors. Changed resolution and all good now.
