Solid State Drive.

Much, much, much better than conventional hard drives - speed wise.

I have run NT8 quite satisfactorily on an old laptop with much less than the recommended specs, and less than yours. (It did take some care with everything I had open at one time, but I never had anything close to the performance issues you have.) So, whether you match the exact suggested computer setup or not, I do not think this is the principal issue.

One thing that was found when NT first released NT8, and that apparently has continued since, is that third-party indicators (indicators not written by NinjaTrader) can get some things seriously wrong with resource use and can bring your system to its knees. That doesn't mean you shouldn't use outside indicators, just that they need to be vetted if you start to have performance problems.

I suggest looking at everything you may have running on NT in the way of indicators and other add-ons, and if any did not come along with the original NT download, try removing them temporarily from all charts, market analyzer and anything else, and see if doing so makes any difference. For instance, you mentioned "JTconnection indicator" -- that sounds like something you got from somewhere besides NT. If so, it may be totally fine, but it may not. The way to debug a complex computer issue is to make it simple by taking out anything that could contribute to the problem, and then add them back one at a time to see if you can spot something that is causing it. Maybe you won't, and this may be a blind alley. But often with NT it will find the problem.

I'm sure others will add some suggestions, and I do recommend working again with NT support. I will tell you that, as someone who used NT from version 6.5 through many revisions of 8.0, and who has read many thousands of posts on this forum as a member and as a moderator, the problems you are having are not typical of most users. Most people just use it right out of the box, and if they have any problems it is because they would rather have other features, or have the features it has implemented in different ways... they don't find that it just doesn't work at all. So whatever is going on with you can be tracked down and fixed, and then you can decide how and whether you like it enough to keep using it. But it does work as advertised, and all these issues can be resolved.

This may not seem that helpful now, but just remember that there will be a solution. You won't have to put up with all this forever. Do look at the outside indicators, and by all means get back with support for all the issues, including the saving of workspaces and the performance problems.

Have a good weekend. Things will be better on Monday.

Thanks Bob

You brought up a good point.

Last week I had at least 4 charts open each having 3 indicators and JT with multiple DOMs it is only since I tried using the workspace feature and the upgrade I'm having problems.

Support at JT sent me the latest update which I implemented yesterday. I wonder if that has something to do with the high CPU usage as they would be a 3rd party indicator.

If I recall the memory usage wasn't high but if my cpu is at 100% it will start screwing up the program and it won't run correctly.

Yes their customer service department is excellent at NT. Hopefully they will get back to me after they check out my log.

I will watch their workspace videos again.

They sent me another one but I am pretty sure it is due to the CPU usage.

I wish I knew more about computers. I'm going to have to find someone to talk to about my issue and try to figure out why the CPU was so high.
