I had the same problem starting out with Ninjatrader. For some reason, Ninjatrader says there's currently no workaround for this but there is. I managed to find two ways.
#1 - Create an additional clean workspace with nothing on it at all, then go to hotkeys and bind something like ctrl+9 to "switch to next workspace". This way you can have all your charts up and when you want to exit the program to do something else you can just press ctrl+9 to get to your clean workspace and then when you're ready to come back you open up ninjatrader again and then press ctrl+9 to get back to your main workspace.
#2 - [The best way imo]. Create a 2nd desktop on your computer. You can do this by pressing the Windows key and Tab key at the same time. In the top left corner you will see the option to "New desktop". Now you have two desktops, one for browsing youtube or whatever/taking notes, and the other for trading. To switch easily between the two desktops, simply press ctrl+windowskey+right or left arrow.
Go for option 2.
