I‘m also at the point to consider buying a new laptop.
Currently, I’m thinking going to latest AMD Ryzen on the other hand
Intel i9 is also a option.
The new 17”Dell XPS looks great but is it a backtest changing device?
Here the specs, can be bought in March|April here in CH
Dell Notebook XPS 17 9700-T29N7
17", 4K, Intel Core i9-10885H, 64GB, 2000GB, SSD, nVidia GeForce RTX 2060
Or the new XPS 15 9500-JPDP6 Touch
15.60", 4K, Intel Core i9-10885H, 64GB, 2000GB, SSD, nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti
By the way, just out of interest
I opens a thread who everybody can perform a standard backtest and display
the results here:
Hello,
I thought when reading the thread :
"I need to buy a new laptop, which is the best for Ninjatrader backtest performance"
I thought ok let's come up with a standard backtest that everybody can do in a few minutes.
Wouldn't …
I think I would be great to compare systems and performance )
Hi,
I am not an expert about current hardware but a couple of years ago I bought the Dell XPS 15 (9570) and it works very well, 32GB ram.
The problem is the wifi card but you can change it for 20 dollars. Also I must add that if you use the laptop's screen, it's slightly noisy but if you use it with external monitors it works just perfectly.
Again, I am not an expert but I decided to buy this laptop because when I bought it in 2018 it was considered as one of the best laptops in the market.
I use it with external monitors but I like to have a desktop just in case I need to travel anywhere.
