Hi Ben,

There are past Market Replay file(s) being shared here on Big Mikes forum. Download a couple of those to practice on. This way you don't know the direction of the market.

Hi Rich,

It looks like I was able to import the files into Ninjascript. However, I'm having trouble with the replay, the traditional candle bars are not painting. All i get is a running market replay count down. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ben

Are you opening a chart with an instrument included in the market replay files ?

You need to extract the file(s) into your C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\db\data<date of data> location. There should be two files in there for the ES instrument. Once you have done that (Open Ninja Trader) select File, Connection, to Market Replay Connection and select the Date the data came from.

sam028 is right, make sure your instrument is set to ES 09-09. You can also Left click on the Chart and Restore Historical Data. Wait for the chart to load and your all set.

Ben,

sam028 is correct. Make sure you are loading the correct ES instrument is replay back the file(s). I haven't been trading ES for a very a long time so if you loaded January 2009 data I'm not quit sure what the ES name would be. It might be ES 01-09.

Hi Everyone,

Still having trouble. All the files have been imported into my C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\db\data<date of data> location as stated. I load the chart as usual with the instrument ES 09-09 and I still only get a blank screen and replay countdown with play, pause, and FF, etc. Anything else I might be missing? I also tried "Restoring Historical Data." No dice.

Sorry to be a pain here...

Yes!

I finally figured this out. Thanks for the direction everyone. My problem: Did not have the correct instrument loaded vs. the actual data timing. I'm good to go now! If anyone needs help loading an instrument, you can find it here. https://www.ninjatrader-support.com/HelpGuideV6/helpguide.html?Import

Again, thanks for the help.

Hi Ben / all,

I'm having the same problem you had, but could not figure it out yet. Do you guys could help me in setting NT for market replay?

I've unzipped a data file into NT data directory, I can connect to it, see its available instruments and I have the instrument defined in the Instrument manager. When opening a chart, it comes blank.

The attached screen capture shows the available instruments from the connection and the 'ES 09-09' instrument.

What am I missing? :-)

Thanks!
André
