(1) Delete DOM and open a new one.

(2) If (1) did not work, shut down NT, rename the folder Own Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 to NinjaTrader 7 Old and restart NinjaTrader. Does it work now? If not you can delete the new folder NinjaTrader 7 and re-rename the old one. If yes, you may now copy the contents of the old folder to the new one bit by bit.

(3) If (2) did not help, make a backup, then rename that folder to NinjaTrader 7 Old and then reinstall NinjaTrader. Now copy the contents from the old folder as you need them.

you sound just like the techs that "support" the product.. sadly, I have to say that if I had a business and it depended on Ninjatrader, I would be at a competitive disadvantage... but wait, isn’t trading a business?!

I just tried to help a little. I am not a tech but an addicted user. So I am used to the twist to make Ninjatrader run.

Yes, if you use Ninjatrader you are at a competitive disadvantage. There are some minor competitive advantages as well.

It really depends what you are doing and how you handle it. I am not defending NinjaTrader. It is the worst software that I continue to use.

Step 4: Put NinjaTrader in recycle bin, for the last time (of the 1000's times already done)
Step 5: Obtain from your broker a OE DOM (take your pick... X-Trader, CQG Trader, RTRader, TradeVec, ThinkorSwim[You can negotiate the rate, but not the margin)
Step 6: Focus on the business of trading, not on providing beta testing and tech support
Step 7: Succeed at trading...

I have come to the conclusion that my investment on the NT license was a major waste of time and effort... since I own it, I will still keep it and literally just play with the software as I find time and I see indicators that perform analysis or do things of interest in this forum that I want to try and take a look at... but I guess I will be sticking with MarketDelta for Charting for my trading as it has pretty much every indicator one needs, and Multicharts for any automated system trading...

I would agree with most on the forum that it will be a year or more before ninjafailure becomes a stable trading platform, assuming they get their act together.

lol. Oh wait, MC doesn't have a DOM yet! There went that brilliant idea.

I originally wanted it for the DOM piece... but even that turned out to be unstable ... I love the simplicity of the ATM piece.. only other platform that I have found with similar abilities is Tradevec... which is also beta... but at least is much more stable...

FYI... I have to admit, you are one of the reasons for which I bear with the software as well.. your seasonality, time of day and ATR studies are useful to me to analyze stocks and visualize the data... so I blame you bud!! just kidding..

I cancelled my subscription last week for NT as it comes due this week. I have grown tired of the wait for NT7 non beta and when they emailed me to ask me why I cancelled I took it as an opportunity to voice my opinion (in a slightly grumpy email). After a few email exchanges, it appears they hope NT7 will become an official release in November. I will believe it when I see it but november is only a few days away. I'm not in a rush to start the new learning curve a new software package requires but I'm looking around.

Friday I changed datafeed. Ninjatrader didn't want to start up anymore after that.

Ninjasupport told me it was a windows error, and the solution was re-installing NT, I did that and it works now.

Nice bugfixing guys... pffff... Ninjatrader's code must be written by amateurs because it's really not possible to mess up THAT long.

I'm looking to convert the Perry system into Sierracharts.

I read somewhere tha u use Windows under Parallels on Mac, since I found a like new iMac 27" i7 quad core 8gb etc for a really cheap price, I was very tempted to buy it, but after doing a reserch on how works Windows on Mac, I found that it has some problems on both VM and Bootcamp, and I gave up. I suspect that you get more problem with NT cos it is based on .net framework (pure Windows) that probably is not well implemented under Windows on Mac.

Take your Pips, go out and Live.
Luke.

Windows works fine on bootcamp.. Actually, I think windows works better on a Mac( i've never tried vmware or parallels, only bootcamp)...lol There's alot of windows boxes that are absolutely shit.

I also agree that there are alot of options if you don't want to use ninja trader. I know alot of people say they like the DOM, but I actually hate it. So many limitations, there are much better products out there. You can't have more than 3 targets, if you add a target, it doesn't add it at your predefined ATM, instead arbitrarily about 1 point above( when you click on + Target button); if you forget to choose a ATM strategy( which happens when you change instruments and place a trade for some reason), there's no way to send it afterwards; Can't scale in to add for 2nd target, all scales automatically go to first target ragardless of ATM strategy... list goes on and on. All of these affect you since you have to manually change your order, which drops you to the back of the que,so theres a good chance you won't get filled unless price trades through it. That def affects you when trading the ES.
T4, x-trader, infinity( my favorite even though it looks ugly) are all much better DOMs which are not in beta. For example, on infinity/transact.. if you choose no ATM strategy, or even choose the wrong one, just cancel order, choose the one you want, and click send.. simple.

The only reason many people use ninja is bc of its ( free) indicators, for which you have to pay for if you were to use a different software.. ie marketdelta/investor rt.

So it all boils down to money, you pay for something else which works, or deal with the quirks of ninja for free....
For those that payed for the software.. i feel your pain. It truly sucks.

I also just found out that if i were to use ninja to lease my trading signals for Collective 2, i have to upgrade to a multi-broker license ( i don't know why, since according to ninja it works as long as you don't have subscribers yet).. Thats just retarded.... stupid little things that piss you off!!! I refuse to pay another dime.

As far as stability for NT7, i think you should have upgraded to it a while ago, 6.5 is less table IMO.....

Windows on my mac works better and more stable than windows stand alone. If windows messes up, I just have to re-copy that virtual machine and i'm back to normal.

That ninjatrader problem that occured when I installed another datafeed has nothing to do if I run windows in parralels or native, it's BUGGY Ninjatrader code.

I would never run windows native on a computer :-)
