Regarding the GOMI indicators and session templates.

I did some debugging on it and it seems that under certain situations the GOM recorder indicator does not pump the required ticks back up to the GOMDeltaIndicator.

GomOnBarUpdate is called but the GomOnMarketData calls are missing.

I do not know why but I suspect it has to do with some condition within the GOMRecorder indicator interacting with files and sessions which is disabling the tick pumping.

Windows on my mac works better and more stable than windows stand alone. If windows messes up, I just have to re-copy that virtual machine and i'm back to normal.

That ninjatrader problem that occured when I installed another datafeed has nothing to do if I run windows in parralels or native, it's BUGGY Ninjatrader code.

I would never run windows native on a computer :-)

I can assure you that running Windows on a mac is anything but enjoyable. Bootcamp & it's assorted drivers are probably the least supported and least frequently updated pieces of software to come out of Apple. The bootcamp drivers are also inherently crappy and buggy. The amount of system latency they introduce is huge and well documented. When I was running Windows on my 17" macbook pro, to get acceptable performance one has to resort to hacks like restricting the bootcamp drivers to only 1 core because they can't handle multi-core.

So do yourself a favor and free yourself from the Cult/Teat of Job & get a real Windows workstation for 1/3rd the price of a Mac.

As for NT7, I am a new user to the software but I have not had any issues really. An interesting thing happened though, when I first decided to try some automated sim trading I downloaded a strategy from this site and imported it into NT7 without any errors. When I ran the strat, it bought NT7 to its knees. To Windows 7's credit, the PC as a whole was quite responsive and I could continue using other apps. When I looked through the strat's code, it was badly written inefficient code and that was the issue and not Ninjatrader itself. I decided to write my own system from scratch and it runs like a dream.

Ninjascript is quite powerful but in the wrong hands will do more harm than good.

Thanks for the above, this may explain why the GomVolumeLadder goes blank sometimes. The GomVolumeLadder gets its data from the GomDeltaIndicator.

This can occur even on bars where other indicators that depend on the GomRecorder, such as the GomCD, ARE displaying. So it seems to have more to do with the GomDeltaIndicator than with the GomRecorder.

I will try to track this down. This gives me a clue to start from. One approach to troubleshooting this would be to modify the GomDeltaIndicator to plot something, and then to see if the plot ever goes blank.

I run parallels under MAC OS X.

Your remark about the bootcamp drivers is not correct for a Mac pro 8core with 4 monitors on windows7, but that's the only system I have expierence with, so another mac could be different. I have a friend trader also running ninjatrader on his macbook pro and it's very stable. I can only write what my expierence is, I have no reason to pretend otherwise.

Please let us know what strategy that is from bigmike ?

installed the new comrecorder. overnight session was working fine. but now (rth) vwap, delta volume and volume profile stopped working. yesterday at least the vwap was working in rth.

when changing to another session template all is working fine. just doesn't make sense.

what a nice surprise today. on my TF chart, all indicators are showing up and working. in ETH and RTH session template.

but there's another surprise. my 6E is having now that problem. yesterday that one was fine. and what's really strange, I didn't change anything.

conclusion: it's nice to play around with NT 7, but for trading with real money ......... welcome back version 6.5!!!!!!

I say we would be out of RC level within the next year, considering how long the Beta phase took...

Between NT7 and the previous version is a big difference. I think NT7 uses much les memory, it,s more stable, uses less procesor power... better in every aspect
