Thanks Sam028 - I get what you mean. Ididn't realise that was intellisense
Re putting an output that you could access from the indicator - I have had more than one discussion with the developer and basically I think it's because the 'signals' require some interpretation and support from higher time frames, etc so of course it won't work "automatically".
So my solution is to pay someone to hack it for me - well that can't be good can it really?
I find it annoying to say the least.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Well, it's his product. He can do what he wants. Not listening to customers requests is one way to go. But, just in the general sense of things, I would say automation is not the way to go in trading.
If the code is obfuscated, paying someone to hack it is not going to be fruitful. If the wizard didn't pick up any useful dataseries being outputted by the indicator, then I would just let the developer know you don't find the product as useful as it could be, and stop paying for it, etc, and move on.
In general, when I've seen this before, it is because the developer doesn't want you to automate it. Why don't they want you to automate it? Possible reasons that come to mind: 1) it won't work, 2) they already have automated it and want to sell you that more expensive product. Of course 3) [both] is an option too
