I hope someone experienced in NT7 can help me with this problem.
After a very severe computer crash I had to re-install Windows XP, Service packs and everything else from scratch. I have NT6.5 running fine with no problems but NT7b19 and before that b18 will install and run BUT there is a problem when accessing Compile funtion, ie importing or editing an indicator.
It appears NT7 can't find the csc.exe file but NT6.5 can. Maybe I have failed to install a program that NT7 is looking for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not a techy but I did a search and it looks like the problem might be related to Microsoft .NET, someone can correct me if I am wrong. Have you upgraded to the latest version yet? If so, then you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling .NET and see if that doesn't fix it.
The csc.exe executable is usually located in the Microsoft.NET\Framework\<version> folder under the system directory. Its location may vary depending on the exact configuration on any individual computer. Multiple versions of this executable will be present on the machine if more than one version of the .NET Framework is installed on the machine. Ok, i have checked and I do have Net 3.5 installed as I thought.
@traderwerks. Interesting point about the license. I do not use NT to trade with (what with the constant crashing) and have been using a Zenfire demo for charting. But I have recently switched to IQFeed as data provider, and again NT6.5 is still working fine with IQFeed and demo license and NT7 was working too, before my computer crash with Zen demo. Just read the Ninjatrader Free Licence thread
I guess I need a NT Direct Edition free licence to get NT7 to work with IQFeed.
I have had enough of Ninjatrader. I am now looking for a replacement charting system. Why?
It seems that you need a paid license not only to trade through Ninja but also to add or edit indicators. LOL
I got my free license and now don't have access to create or edit indicators or strategies.
After allowing free use of charting for many years and building up a large user base, Ninja are now pushing them into becoming paying customers.
This would be ok if the product worked properly but they have fumbled the ball big time in my opinion. Their handling of bid/ask information is the biggest problem.
I am running a 15 day trial of Sierra Chart and after just 1 day i have most of what i wanted to do in Ninja set up. including bid/ask studies and historical bid ask back data from IQFeed.
