Thanks for posting the pictures. I recently started looking at the pitchfork ( even attended a few sessions at a paid site) but have not quite figured out which swing point to use as the anchor. One can end up by drawing a meaningless pitchfork, or draw one after the fact for a best fit which defeats the purpose because median lines are meant to project probable future action.
Appreciate any thoughts, helpful hints as to hoe best to use the pitchfork.
As anything else, it's a question of practice but i know it does not directly answer your question. I use some tricks which are all based on the 50% ratio. When unsure or no pivots seem to fit I'll often use the Fibonacci tool with these ratios only [0%, 50%, 100%] and draw a line between two legs of important swings at the 50% and then would copy/paste this median line at the 0% and 100% to get a general feel then i keep improving my selection of pivots when i get more information. I don't have time right now but i'll try to explain it with more details. Meanwhile check this chart for the Russell this morning before the session starts :
I saw this Fork mahlonhersh but did not find it usefull for my day trading activities. I try to focus my attention on lower intervals more specifically 30min.
But today the targets were easy to guess at least on the ES. I had two numbers in mind. The 100% ext and 127.2% ext.
