Multi Timeframe Moving Averages - Help to Refine this Indicator
One of my favorite indicators is the simple moving average of higher timeframes as they often provide reliable support and resistance levels and give a much better "big-picture" view of the market. I have attached two files for my Multi-Timeframe SMA indicators. I am trying to clean this indicator up but unfortunately, my coding abilities are limited.
Here are a few of the things I'd like to accomplish:
-Combine the Weekly and Monthly SMAs into one indicator
-Don't plot the early portion of the indicator if not enough data is loaded (i.e. On a daily chart, if I have 200 days of data loaded (40 weeks), and my period is 20 weeks, don't plot the line for the first 100 days as it is erroneous data. Obviously, this number of days will vary depending on the period and timeframe)
-Remove the "Daily SMA" plot which doesn't plot anyways but seems to be necessary for the higher timeframe SMAs to plot
Any other features you think might be useful, I am open to. I'd appreciate if someone could help refine this one.
Here's an Example with the 20 week sma, 50 week sma, 20 month sma, and 50 month sma:
Thanks for your post - I'm migrating from thinkscript, which I could code in as if it was my native language, to ninjascript, which is like being thrown into an alternate universe. A lot of my strategy is based on MTF indicators that visually look the way you've created these MTF moving averages - they are super easy to code on thinkscript - but I for the life of me cant figure out how to get them to work on ninja.
I've tried using others code to just get something on my screen, but no dice.
Any way you can run me through how you created this indicator? I'll be more than glad to collaborate on future MTF endeavors once I get a grasp of this!
