I usually trade on a desktop at home and I have no lag or speed issues. However I also have NT8 loaded on a surface pro and it seems as though I am getting a lag or delay.
I try to look at the market and it trade occasionally during the NY session which is obviously pretty fast compared to Globex, and I am using a hotspot connection off my iPhone. I am thinking maybe not look as far back with respect to data to minimize the lag or delay. Or is it actually not possible or recommended what so ever to trade on a hotspot connection? Is there away to assess my connection speed ?
Thanks for your reply rleplae. My connection is LTE which I think is equivalent to 4G. I will be using speed test to see how the IPhone and surface pro speed is.
I did test the guest WiFi network at work and got NT8 going and it seems fine. So that may be a better option. I just need to make sure I don’t get in trouble using the guest network at work, currently only planning to go in to look a few times a day for about 15 min each time.
Having somewhere a server (desktop) with a cable running your NT8
and going in with a remove access (teamviewer, vnc, ... ) might be a
better option, you will also not have to pull-in the history to startup
NT and just connect and look...
In short:
You install a host software on your desktop at home, start NT8 and when going to work you leave it on
You install a client software on your surface, when needed you connect to your home desktop, which
takes few seconds and you have access to an up-to-date chart, as the NT is already running.
There are few tools out there to do that, just be careful to put a good password on your connection
